Comprehensive eye exams evaluate all aspects of your vision and eye health. The comprehensive eye exam looks at your eye externally and internally for any signs of eye disease, then tests your vision in a variety of ways. If contact lenses are appropriate for you, it's time to talk about your contact lens preferences.
Vision therapy is a doctor-supervised, non-surgical and customized program of visual activities designed to correct certain vision problems and/or improve visual skills. Unlike eyeglasses which simply compensate for vision problems or eye surgery that alters the anatomy of the eye or surrounding muscles, vision therapy aims to "teach" the visual system to correct itself.
Sports vision training works on improving the visual abilities of an athlete that are most necessary for excellence in their sport. Some of these abilities include eye-hand coordination, dynamic visual acuity, tracking, focusing, visual reaction time, and peripheral vision. All activities are done on a sport-specific basis with a custom-tailored program for each sport and athlete.
Myopia or nearsightedness is the inability to see things clearly at a distance. These people require glasses to see far away. In the 1970s, only 25% of Americans were myopic. Today that number is 42%. That is a 66% increase. The National Eye Institute believes that 39 million Americans will be nearsighted (myopic) by the year 2020.

While on vacation in Silverthorne my wife suddenly suffered with severe eye pain. We had spotted Blue River Vision driving through town and we took a chance to see if they could help us. The staff was extremely caring and empathetic. Within 5 minutes Dr. J was able to take a look at my wife, diagnosed her and gave us the appropriate medicine to make the pain bearable. The next day Dr. J came in to check on my wife even though it was her day off. The Dr was caring, knowledgeable and professional. After reading her bio and the care that she provided it is clear that she is not only a great physician

Thank you Blue River Vision for my "eyeball savers/enhancers"! These awesome blue-light blocking, prescription glasses have been protecting my eyes for a couple of years now. I love them more than ever especially with all these covid, work-from-home, virtual meetings. I find myself staring at the monitors for most of the day, and what a difference wearing these protective glasses make. Thank you Dr. J!!! ๐๐

I cannot say enough great things about experience this pm with Dr Hegewald and her staff. We are in from Louisiana fir a week of skiing. This was 9 year old's first ski trip since getting glasses in March. We tried earlier today with ski goggles over his glasses. The fogging up made his poor vision without glasses a better alternative. At the end of the day I called her office and they my som to their schedule this pm. We drove over and she quickly did an eye exam and taught him how to put in his new contacts all in 30 minutes.
The office decor is very nice looking more like an outdoor guide

I was traveling with my family from Oklahoma & lost a rubber nose pad on my prescription glasses. I went to several places to try to get a replacement, but no one was very helpful until I went into Blue River Vision. They found a suitable replacement for me, and when I asked how much I owed them, they said no charge, just happy to help. Felt like I was back in my small hometown. If I lived here, I'd definitely come here for my vision care needs. Highly recommend these folks.
