My true love for baking cakes began at the tender age of 44. Seriously! Whoever said you were too old to chase your dreams? I had spent my entire career in the medical field until one day, a co worker asked if I had any interest in helping her decorate a cake. Then, I was officially bitten by the baking bug!
For several years after that first bake, I decided to begin baking and decorating cakes for family and friends at home in the moonlight hours, after a full days work in the medical field. Hence the name, Moonlight Cakes! So there I was, a full-time job, a full-time mom, and a part-time baker. Word began to spread and before I knew it, Moonlight Cakes went from a fun creative hobby to a full time job.

Services
Our tastings are $40.00 for a maximum of 4 people. If you book with us at your tasting, your $40.00 tasting fee will be credited to your overall wedding cake balance. Our tastings are unique to Moonlight Cakes. For weddings with 100 or more guests we block an hour for your tasting and let you and your guest (up to 4 people, total) sample 7 of our top cake flavors and all of our fillings.

This is a cute place with a great variety of cupcakes. Please don't walk in expecting a plain white cupcake! We purchased a 6 pack and picked 6 different flavors to try at home.
The bacon cupcake was interesting. It was different and had to try it. One of our favorites was the red velvet! YUM!
They have chocolate covered pretzel sticks that make great gifts. Also some hot chocolate bombs. They ship if you want to send some as a gift!
We don't live in the area, but would recommend that if you happen to be near here, make a stop and treat yo'self!

I didn't go inside, but I came here for the Yelp Event. I love that they allowed the entrance of moonlight cakes to be used for the annual Yelp adopt a family. It was a pleasure meeting our FW community manager, Kendall in person. I appreciated that moonlight cakes provided goodies for us to take home, like the cocoa drop and the peppermint cookie. I'll have to check out the inside of this place next time. The pictures of the different treats are enticing, as well as the reviews.

We used them for our wedding cake and they were amazing every step of the way. Their tasting was so unexpected and unique, allowing us to taste and combine all their cakes and frostings. It was actually pretty fun.
When the cake arrived on wedding day, they delivered and assembled it carefully on site, even adding in fresh flowers we had on site. IT. WAS. GORGEOUS. We had three different flavors for the 3 different tiers, and they were all so good! Everyone loved the cakes, even some non-cake eaters.
We keep coming back to them for more cakes and cupcakes

I was able to experience the yumminess of Moonlight Cakes during a recent Yelp event. It is about 20 minutes from me, which I am happy about because it will discourage me to return too often!
I had a Chocolate Peppermint Crinkle cookie (actually, 2 since my fiancé did not have his), a cocoa bomb (again, actually 2) and a birthday sprinkles cake pop.
I love soft cookies. Crisp cookies have their place, but not often as far as I am concerned. The Chocolate Peppermint Crinkle cookies were about as close to perfect a cookie could be. Good chocolate flavor, peppermint not too strong, and soft!

Such a cute shop with a wonderful selection!! All the cupcakes looked wonderful. We got a crimson and cream (red velvet) and the amore (coconut vanilla). Both were so moist and had wonderful flavor!! Definitely keep them in mind for our next sweet treats. Staff was also very helpful and the space was clean with easy parking.

So I came here to buy some of the wedding cake cupcakes, Blushing bride. It is not as good. The cupcakes were VERY stale. So it was disappointing. The strawberry was not stale. I think it cost $4 per cupcake or something. So pretty let down since we could not eat the cupcakes and it was tossed. Not sure

I usually don't write reviews, but this place is extraordinary. I ordered a cake for my sisters baby shower. It came out perfectly and they really listened to what I wanted. Everyone at the party was raving about how yummy the cake was!
Then I went with my daughter to get her a birthday cupcake. She chose the oreo. They were sweet enough to give it to her for free. Highly recommend.

Thank you so much Moonlight for saving the day! I had 2 days to plan a baby shower and needed a custom cake asap. No other bakery would help me but when I called Moonlight Cakes, I explained my delimma, and they came through and saved the day. To top it off, the cake and cupcakes came out amazing and I couldn't have asked for a better design on such short notice. They will have my business from here on out 😀

Oh my god!!! These cupcakes must have something to make them addictive. I got 5 cupcakes. ( Cookies n cream, bridal something, snowball, lemon, and crimson something) I apologize for messing up the names. I also got a snickerdoodle & sugar cookie.
These cupcakes were delicious. My favorite was the crimson-its like a red velvet. The lemon was really good also. They were all insanely good & very sweet. They didn't have too much icing & the were perfectly sized. The store is adorable & customer service was great. I took 1 star for being too sweet.

I cannot recommend this bakery enough. To start, their online ordering is so EASY. I ordered my wife's birthday cake on my phone with no problem.
Second, their customer service is phenomenal. I realized I wanted to make a change after placing the online order, so I called and they said it would be no problem.

Oh my good, what incredible cookies. The Yelp Elite Squad always adopts several families at Christmas. This year our fearless leader, Kendall, chose Moonlight Cakes for the drop off point for our gifts for all the family's children. When dropping off our gifts we were given a little box of cookies from the bakery as a gift. There was one chocolate chips cookie, absolutely incredible and also a sugar cookie sandwich filled with icing and dusted with holiday sprinkles. Can you say sugar overload? It was SO delicious. I've been here many times before to get a few cupcakes for my husband's birthday and for my in-laws, but I had never actually tried them for myself. Since I received an email offering me a free cupcake for my birthday, I decided to stop by and give it a try. I would feel super guilty not purchasing anything so I went ahead and bought stuff for the family too. Unfortunately, I don't really like a lot of sweet stuff, and the milk and cookies was way too sweet for my taste. My fault though for not getting something fruitier. Yum- one of the best new cupcake places I've been to in the Dallas area in a while! They weren't super busy at 5pm on a Tuesday and there were plenty of options left. It's $3.35 per cupcake, or $20.10 for 6 cupcakes. Since there were a bunch of different flavors I wanted to try, I decided to go for 6 flavors. Out of the ones I purchased, the only one I didn't try was the Raspberry Beret, since I'm not a big fan of raspberries. This is a really cute cupcake spot. Inside is clean and nicely decorated. They have a large variety of flavors to choose from. They also make full size cakes and offer a small selection of cake pops, cookies, and Blue Bell ice cream. Their cupcakes are delicious! I'm not a huge cupcake person, but Moonlight cakes is definitely doing something right!

I am an experienced home baker and as such I tend to be more picky about baked goods. I can honestly say that the team members at Moonlight Bakery are excellent bakers. You can taste the love and care in their food. The cupcakes are so moist and flavorful and not excessively sweet.
