Hence why I'm a photographer! And if you want to see me at my happiest, look no further than behind my camera during magic hour. There's seriously always a smile on my face in that situation! In the pursuit of wanting to have that smile on my face as often as possible, I started this business of mine five and a half years ago, and then left my day job as a government contractor three years ago to do photography full time.
Proud pup mom, type A creative, lover of the outdoors, Top Chef fan girl, and wedding and portrait photographer. I can't wait to meet you! I've received your message and will be in touch soon! If you've inquired over a weekend, it may be Monday before I'm able to respond, as I'm often out of the office on weekends at photo sessions.
Photography is my profession, and it's still my favorite hobby! When I'm not taking photos of people, I often have my camera with me, snapping pics of my surroundings. There's so much beauty in this world and it's wonderful I get to share it with you so you can bring it into your own home. My favorite time of year is here!
No matter what the occasion, you deserve to document your life! And it's exciting and fun to celebrate your milestones and accomplishments with professional photography. Especially when we get to work together! It's a joy for me to provide light and bright photography in beautiful outdoor locations in D.C., northern Virginia, Maryland, and beyond, for brilliant, elegant folks who love to laugh!

Rachel photographed our elopement in Old Town Alexandria. My husband and I both feel uncomfortable and awkward in front of the camera, but Rachel immediately put us at ease. She was personable, professional, easy to work with, and she really made the experience fun. We shot with her for an hour and she captured wonderful photos of us that really encapsulated who we are as a couple and a special moment in our lives. Would definitely recommend Rachel for your wedding or elopement photography needs!

Rachel was amazing to work with for our small micro-wedding this Fall. She gave excellent instructions and advice, helping with everything from bouquet placement, poses for the two of us, and arranging the train of my gown. She used the time allotted super wisely, we managed to do 3 locations after the ceremony for bride and groom portraits within about an hour. She sent our sneak peaks first thing the morning after the ceremony and was extremely prompt sending the full gallery. Her work turned out more gorgeous than I could've hoped for. Can't recommend enough!!

We made a lot of decisions when we planned our wedding and Rachel was by far the best one we made. She was so helpful in planning, like calling out that our initial ceremony time would be after sunset & in the dark (planning a fall wedding in the summer will do that to you) and helping us scout out beautiful DC locations. Working with Rachel on our wedding day was easy- she made us feel comfortable and gave us the direction to pose like we knew what we were doing (bc we didnt!). But wait- here is the best part, we woke up the next morning and we HAD SNEAK PEAKS IN OUR INBOX. We had a small wedding

My husband and I value Rachel’s photography by its unique, bright style, perfect capture reflecting our personalities and composition. The quality of the print is excellent which only proves her professional approach. I used to be a photographer myself and I was very careful when looking for a professional that will capture a few portraits of my husband and I in wedding outfits. If you liked her portfolio as much as I did, here are some more reasons why she is one of the best ones.
She provides a guide how to prepare for your session and she’s willing to collaborate on finding other professionals

I cannot recommend working with Rachel enough!
She was so kind, professional, and very efficient throughout our session.
In between shots- she took the time to talk with us, get to know us as a couple, and talk wedding plans.
I cannot wait for another opportunity to work with her again in the future!

Rachel was incredibly wonderful to work with! She took graduation photos for me and my significant other, and she made the whole process easy from start to finish. She was friendly, organized, passionate, and communicative. We could not be happier with the process and our photos -- they are absolutely stunning!

Rachel took my graduation pictures at the Lincoln and was able to make me super comfortable behind the camera very quickly. I only did a 25 min mini-session with her but she was extremely efficient and was able to complete many different poses and backgrounds within that short time frame. Picture quality was amazing and turn around time was SO FAST! Would absolutely recommend working with such a talented and dedicated photographer!

I was looking for a photographer to help my husband and I remember a special time in our lives w/my first pregnancy and since the time coincided with the cherry blossoms in DC, I came across Rachel while browsing other cherry blossom maternity photos online. Her photos definitely stood out amongst the others (think bright and airy with gorgeous lighting). I am so glad I stumbled across her because she has been a dream to work with. She was very responsive from the beginning and extremely thorough throughout our experience regarding tips, suggestions, and planning. My husband and I are both quite

Rachel was so wonderful to work with! From the moment we sent an inquiry to when we received our pictures, she was so friendly, professional, and organized. She had lots of suggestions and ideas on location and the timing to optimize the sunlight during the winter that we really appreciated. Rachel also directed us on how to pose without making it seem awkward, and we loved how the pictures turned out. She is very responsive to emails and got our pictures back to us way quicker than we anticipated. You can tell Rachel has a passion for what she does and all the people she works with, we loved working

Worked with Rachel for my surprise proposal photos, in DC's Meridian Hill Park. Every step of the process of the utmost quality and professionalism, and the photos were framed and edited in fantastic fashion.
But the part that mattered most to me was an immediate and continuous feeling that I could trust Rachel with this moment. I was obviously highly anxious before proposing in general, but then you add in the factors of proposing in a somewhat crowded public place and getting that clean proposal shot, and that the pandemic was in full swing so another reason crowd avoidance was vital. How could
