I find the staff to be pleasant and professional. I do wish that my doctor would be more informative with me about my eyesight issues. He speaks mainly to his assistant and I have to ask him to explain what he is telling her. I had to ask him if my prescription had changed. He said yes but never told me how. I was given contacts to try with a medical condition listed on the boxes but with no explanation to me. In spite of communication issues, my doctor is friendly and appears to care.

Dr. Thibodeaux is simply the best. I’ve been to ophthalmologists, cornea specialists, retina specialists and dry eye specialists in a major city and he is equal to any of them in terms of his expertise and diagnostic ability. He is up on all the latest treatment options and has state of the art equipment. He also specializes in contact lenses for hard to fit patients. As an optometrist, he does not do surgery, but he will refer patients if they require any surgical procedures and he will handle the follow-up care. He’s also extremely nice and down-to-earth. The exam and visit with Dr. Hamashige went great. Marisa the contact manager on the other hand is very rude, unprofessional, and makes promises she cannot keep. She told me on two occasions that she would contact me by the end of the week and I never heard back from her. I received my contacts 2 months after my eye exam. Marisa did not know the length of time the contacts were good for and when I asked about pricing she told me they did not apply insurance to the amount “the patient was provide authorization to apply your insurance.” I am a RN and I work daily with that public. Firstly, let me state that I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Thibodeaux himself. I started seeing him last year for severe dry eye disease caused by complications from a bone marrow transplant for leukemia. He is warm, funny, knowledgeable and takes the time to listen. But he needs to hire staff who don't treat people like they're being done a favor by being seen at Accent Vision. I jumped at the chance to take a last-minute cancellation appointment today because I had been experiencing severe dry eye and other issues again, and my regular appointment wasn't for a few more weeks.

Very personable, engaged and pleasant visit all around, and good news on my eyes to boot. I find Dr. Thibodeaux to be very good eye doctor, and much, much better than ones I have had in the past or have experienced with my father's eye treatments through his own doctors. He has a good mannerism with patients, including what a hard-to-find characteristic of listening, and takes the time to describe in plain terms what he is seeing or finding with my eyes, both something that seems to be rare.
