Services
Women's health services are available at the Pemiscot County Health Center. A nurse practitioner is available to provide pelvic exams, STD screens, clinical breast exams, and pap smears if indicated once a month by appointment only. There are many birth control options available to women today. The health center also offers helpful information on choosing the best method for your lifestyle.

What is Influenza? Influenza, or the flu, is a viral infection spread from person-to-person primarily by respiratory droplets created by coughing, sneezing, or talking.
The health department provides diet counseling with a Registered Dietitian. Additional counseling services are also available on several different nutrition topics including diabetes, weight loss and heart healthy diets. Other topics are addressed based on individual needs. All are provided free of charge to Pemiscot County residents.
The Safe Cribs for Missouri program provides portable cribs and safe sleep education to low income families who have no other resources for obtaining a crib. The program is administered by the Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) through federal funding from the Maternal Child Health Block Grant (Title V) and state funding from the Children's Trust Fund.
WIC is an income based supplemental nutrition program. This program is intended for women - prenatal and post-partum - infants, and children to the age of five. We also provide breastfeeding support, supplies, classes, and counseling.
