Heather Leeper opened the first Little Leapers class in July of 2012 in Blacksburg, VA at a YMCA. The idea of Little Leapers began as a single class to offer something unique to the area. What she didn't know was that her curriculum and classroom design wouldn't just be filling a niche in Blacksburg, but it would be demanded all around the area!
At the very beginning, Heather had sewn all of the classroom costumes and tutus in her living room, but now our branded costumes are made and created by professional seamstresses and designers. In under a year, Heather, at only 26, went from being a self-employed dance teacher to a having a staff of twelve, at three locations.

Meet our awesome staff! Each staff member goes through a lengthy training process, so you know that your child is in the best, most qualified hands. Our teachers have extensive backgrounds in their fields and outgoing personalities focused on making the classes engaging and exciting for the students.
Little Leapers Blacksburg is conveniently located immediately off Rt. 460 Blacksburg exit., making it convenient for all travel from Blacksburg, Christiansburg, Radford, Pulaski, and even Roanoke off interstate 81. Our Blacksburg dance studio location is home to over 250 dancers attending our amazing Little Leapers program (18mo-7yrs old) and LEAP Performing Arts Program (8yrs - Adult).
Every year Little Leapers puts on a minimum of two productions, including the Nutcracker at the Moss Arts Center, and a Spring Production. Each show is open to the public to audition, and all Little Leapers and LEAP Performing Arts Students are encouraged to participate. See some of our past productions below!
LEAP Company provides performance, leadership, and outreach for students looking for a pre-professional dance opportunity. Company is an intensive training program that cultivates advanced dance technique and leadership skills for pre-teens and teens. It is our goal to not only teach our members the importance of knowledge and execution of dance technique, but hold them accountable in teamwork and leadership activities.
