We understand that while it is vitally important to help correct untreated hearing loss with use of properly fitted hearing aids, our profession is not just about the hearing aids. As audiologists, our mission should include the prevention of hearing loss when able, and helping individuals with dizziness understand and manage their symptoms.
To achieve this goal, we value and foster our professional relationships with other specialists who are involved in patient healthcare: physical therapists, speech language therapists, Ear, Nose and Throat physicians, and general practitioners. We are committed to providing professional, compassionate, patient-centered hearing health care.

Audiology Center of Maine is owned and operated by people who live in Ellsworth and Downeast Maine. While we focus on providing high quality, personalized, patient centered, hearing health care to our patients; we are also passionate about the overall health of our communities. Our continued growth enables us to invest in programs that support our local communities.
An audiologist uses a hearing test to measure your type, degree and configuration of hearing loss. An audiology evaluation consists of a series of one or more of these tests. Your audiologist will use your test results to create a treatment plan for your unique hearing loss. An audiology (or hearing) evaluation can benefit patients of all ages, even those who do not show signs of hearing loss.
Noise induced hearing loss is the second most common form of hearing loss (ranking behind presbycusis, hearing loss related to normal aging), and is the most preventable type. Background sound is a constant in our busy lives. Normally, background noises are at safe levels that won't impact our hearing.
At Audiology Center of Maine, we take pride in offering you the best in hearing health care. Because of the association between untreated hearing loss and cognitive function, we now perform a cognitive screening to measure your current cognitive performance. The study shows that hearing loss is the largest modifiable risk factor against dementia.

Dr. Elizabeth Beal Jardin conducted hearing evaluation tests on Oct. 13th, 2021, as ordered by my ENT physician. She was, throughout the testing, professional, gentle, and informative. I could not have asked for a more thorough hearing evaluation, combined with a helpful discussion of possible future audiology options to improve my hearing. Thank you, Dr. Jardin

I received my hearing test and the results were explained to me during the same appointment. I was shown how hearing aids would help my hearing. I tried some in the ear hearing aids and couldn’t believe the change in my hearing. I never realized how bad my hearing was until I tried the hearing aids. I was fitted with new hearing aids during that appointment and left with a new outlook on life. All this was accomplished in a period of a little over two hours. It was a great experience for me, and I’m enjoying all the new sounds that I have been missing for so long! I coundn’t be happier!

I underwent three hours of testing several days ago, relative to a diagnosis of Meniere's disease from my ENT. All the tests were explained to me in detail as to what would be happening and what I might experience. I was treated with compassion, respect and professionalism. Overall, although I had dreaded going, it was a wonderful, comfortable, enlightening experience. These folks are great!

What an awesome staff! Every need of mine was met, and then some.
Every team member was a pro at his/her job. All of my questions were answered, and they had my test results back to my doctor in less than a week. Who could ask for more? Will continue any needed treatment with this group. I was so happy with how they do business.

I have been more than pleased on every level with Audiology Center of Maine. I have needed updating of my hearing aids and then decided to buy new ones so I've had lots of help learning to use them properly. Dr David has been enormously helpful. He has the most current equipment to diagnoses and adjust my hearing issues and the patience to help me learn how to make best use of them. The office staff is equally helpful.

So kudos to this Audiology firm for expending a good bit of effort to help my 85 year old dad return his hearing aid to the manufacturer for repair. We were visiting Ellsworth and Meredith in the office expedited the shipment out so we would have it back in a week. I was more than willing to remunerate them in some way, but they said no. Certainly means we will use them again And I would recommend them
