The majority of small to medium sized fillings are done needle free. In addition to accepting all indemnity (traditional) insurances and payments from non participating PPOs, we participate in the following plans. We gladly accept new patients to our growing family. We are a true family practice treating patients of all ages. Dr Pohlhaus bought the practice in 1992 from Dr. Frank Veltre (who retired in 1999), which he had worked in for over thirty years.

These steps include. Digital X-rays - Traditional film based x-rays generate signifcant waste, including lead and hazardous chemicals.

Dr. Pohlhaus has been performing laser dentistry since 2004. Our office has a Fotona LightWalker AT dental laser. This versatile device performs a host of both tooth and soft tissue procedures, often times with no need for numbing. It contains both an ER:Yag and Nd:Yag laser. This laser lacks the heat and vibration of the dental drill so many fillings can be done without getting a needle.
We offer a full range of dental implant services at The Baltimore Center for Laser Dentistry. Everything from the extraction, bone graft, implant placement, and implant restoration is kept in house. This continuity of care allows for a more seamless and less expensive implant process. As with all dental procedures referral may be needed for very complex cases.

I've been a patient for just about 5 years. When my previous dentist passed away, Dr. Pohlhaus was recommended by a colleague. I would not hesitate to recommend his practice to anyone looking for a good dentist. I love the 7AM appts. He uses lasers in his practice and like other reviewers have mentioned, the dental procedures are relatively painless. I've had the typical teeth cleanings, fillings, and a crown lengthening procedure done. Fortunately, no root canals (keeping my fingers crossed). The staff is nice and friendly as well.

Dr. Pohlhaus and his staff are great, I have never been uncomfortable in the office or in any pain during any procedure. They say that the procedures are minimally invasive to ensure the patient's comforts, and I can certainly vouch for that. I travel further than I need to for a dental visit but it is absolutely worth it. I can trust everyone there. I have been seeing him for at least 15 years now.
