Indian Lake Yacht Club
We are a casual, member-owned club dedicated to promoting the sport of sailing through adult and youth classes, club racing, regional and national regattas. The Indian Lake Yacht Club was founded in 1945 as a family oriented sailing and social club. Members come from all walks of life with skills ranging from novice sailor to champions.

Anyone interested in sailing may apply. We currently operate an active "one design" racing program for 5 national racing classes. The club facilities include 69 private docks, a heated, enclosed clubhouse with full kitchen. We also have a large shelter house, locker room with showers and restrooms.
Services
Whether you are an avid sailor or have had a lifelong desire to learn to sail, you should consider a membership in the Indian Lake Yacht Club. You will find an environment of friendly, helpful people from all walks of life whose common thread is the love of sailing. Our most active time is May through October, but we do have those intrepid souls who enjoy hard water sailing (See ICE BOAT under the FLEETS tab).
There are activities through out the year, but the months of May through September are our busiest. If you are a GMAIL user, you can share our on-line calendar at ilycrp246@gmail.com. One of the best parts of becoming a member of the Indian Lake Yacht Club might just be the social events that highlight the season.
This organization (HCIA) brings together sailors who own Highlanders, from sailing clubs around the country. The organization runs a full traveling regatta schedule and organizes a yearly National Championship racing series to determine the best sailor in the class. This race is open to all beginning and advanced Highlander sailors.
The I20 fleet at Indian Lake Yacht Club is very active. Not only does the I20 fleet have the highest participation rate in Club races, with 100% of the fleet having participated in at least one race, but on non-race days you will probably find many of us out sailing together just for fun. We also enjoy excellent off-the-water fellowship, with a very family-friendly and casual group of sailors.
The Lightning class is one of the largest one-design classes in the world in terms of number of fleets, active class members and regatta participation. Over 15,200 boats have been built to date. It is a perfect boat for Indian Lake 's wide range of winds and wave conditions. At only 700 pounds, Lightnings are light enough to trailer and easy to launch.

I grew up at this club, my grandparents taught sailing camp for many years and was so happy I got to experience it as well.
