Star D LLC owner, Dawn Dorman, was introduced to the world of quilting through her daughter-in-law, and it quickly grew into a lasting passion. While looking for a new sewing machine she and her husband, Rick, discovered there was no Janome dealer in their hometown of Abilene, TX.
Realizing this would be a good business opportunity, Dawn and Rick started researching machine sales and maintenance, acquiring the necessary training and obtaining basic and advanced certificates in machine repair in 2013.After repairing and servicing machines for a year, the pair decided to pursue a Janome dealership and acquired a storefront in late 2014, becoming an authorized dealer the following year.

When I called looking for a feather weight pressure foot, the person I spoke to explained what was happening and offered suggestions for online help giving me the cost for the item I need. She also explained that they did not have the part I needed in stock at this time. People who are willing to do extra for others is totally awesome.

Wanted to level up with a new sewing machine that wouldn't cost as much as a car but still work great. The couple who owns this place are super friendly and helpful. They had several options for me and I love my new Janome. They have all the stuff you need for any janome machine and some really cute fabrics too. I love this place. Highly recommend. They also can service any sewing machine brand so take yours there for a tune up.
