A: A LED TV is a LCD TV. A LCD is a Liquid Crystal Display that uses an incandescent light to illuminate the picture. The LED TV is the same thing, but illuminated by either side placed LED (Light Emitting Diodes) or rear placed LEDs. Plasma TV's use small chambers of a plasma (gas) to illuminate adjacent areas of phosphors of different colors.
