Bill LaBombard has lived and worked in Western Massachusetts all his adult life. He has over 35 years of experience in the construction and remodeling business and is well known throughout the area for his fine craftsmanship and attention to detail. His list of building accomplishments ranges from post and beam construction of state-of-the-art modern homes to the finest detailed finish work in Historic Deerfield.
Bill has also worked for the Northampton Council on Aging for 15 years as a HUD grant manager, providing in-home repairs/modifications for the elderly as well as directing a handyman service program for the aging population of Western Massachusetts. He has first-hand knowledge and experience dealing with the problems faced by elderly and disabled homeowners.

Aging In Place Builders specializes in incorporating elegant, affordable, and seamless designs/modifications to new or existing structures to allow you to remain comfortably in your home or business. We have the experience and expertise to design practical solutions for injured, impaired or disabled individuals and their families.
The location of at least one full bathroom in the home is one of the most important aspects of livability in a home environment. There should always be at least one full bathroom located on the main floor of the home. If there is not, consider remodeling or adding an additional bath to the primary living level.
Most traditional homes were built with the idea of living space on ground level and bedrooms on the second floors. Unfortunately, this planning concept doesn't lend itself well to those who have trouble getting up and down stairs. A master bedroom, preferably with its own bathroom or one nearby, on the ground level of the home is the safest and most comfortable option.
Aging in place will mean different things to different people. Some may see it as an opportunity to remain in a familiar neighborhood, close to the comforts of family and friends. Others may see it as a chance to prepare for the future, so decisions later in life won't be so difficult. This team is amazing - I cannot underscore that enough! After my family member became disabled due to an accident, we needed accessibility modifications made to our home. AIP completely restructured a fairly small existing bathroom into an ADA-compliant bathroom with roll-in shower stall that is beyond what we had even thought possible. They had knowledge of and experience with specs and features that would be necessary for someone in our family’s situation - many of them details we didn’t even realize we had to consider. AIP were meticulous about sticking to their work schedule as promised

AIP is the best! Previously, we contracted with someone (NOT AIP) to widen doorways for two bedrooms and paint one of those bedrooms...it took two months to get the job done. AIP was recommended to completely renovate our guest bathroom, making it wheelchair accessible in the process. After meeting with AIP, explaining what we wanted and how we wanted the room to look/function they worked with us to make sure what we envisioned became a reality. The AIP team is efficient and very professional. We couldn't be happier with AIP or our experience of working with them. Thanks, AIP!
