Class helps promote physical fitness, in addition to introducing basic gymnastics skills on vault, bars, beam, floor, and more! Preschoolers are encouraged to discover turn taking, manners and other early childhood social skills as well as developing body awareness, coordination, and cooperative learning.
This class allows kids to work on more advanced skills that will prepare them for moving up to our beginner class or even pre-team. Class helps develop basic gymnastics on each event covered. Owner, Karimah Thorne opened Capital City Gymnastics with over 30 years of experience in coaching gymnastics. Gymnastics has become one of the fastest growing sports in South Carolina and I am honored to serve Cayce and surrounding areas. Capital City is devoted to assisting individuals regardless of gender, age, finances, mentality, physical abilities, and background achieve health through a lifetime of sports and fitness.
Each level progresses in the compulsory competitive levels with more advanced skills. Gymnasts attend USAG sanctioned competitions in order to qualify for the SC-USAG State meet at the conclusion of the competition season. Dependent upon the level, gymnasts receive awards based on participation or on scores at each event in their age division and level.
Recreational gymnastics gives all participants involved training and exercise that involves flexibility, physical vigor, balance, coordination, and agility. Classes are full of activities that will make children more fit and help keep them healthy, which will lead to a confident and out going child.
Motivating young people is just one of our primary goals. We express to children, through encouragement of positive thinking, that he or she can do anything they put their mind to (Saying can't is not in our vocabulary)! Whether it is a basic skill or a double back flip, we encourage them to try their very best, and to feel good about their efforts.
