Founded by Dixon Smith in 1950, the Shop began as a "Design Studio" on St. Charles Street in downtown Baton Rouge. Known for her love of clean lines, Dixon designed with the idea that "rooms and furniture are to be used and enjoyed". Today, the Shop is owned and operated by Dixon's son, Jim Smith, who has been with the company for decades.
