Founded by Sean Duffy and Erik Harley in 2009, H&D Mechanical is a mid-size mechanical contractor based in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. H&D has an established record of superior work in a variety of settings that include medical, scientific and commercial projects. Services
Sean has worked at all levels of the industry. Sean obtained his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Marist College in 1986. In 1987, he joined the team at Cornell-AEC and started his apprenticeship with Plumbers Local Union 5 and completed a 5-year apprenticeship graduating with Salutatorian Honors.
H&D CADD/BIM Coordination Department offers a full range of 3D modeling, system coordination and shop drawing production. Although BIM (Building Information Modeling) is not new to the construction industry, it is forever changing with the newer versions being offered. H&D Mechanical has historically been on the cutting edge of the software upgrades and uses all the latest technology available.
Erik has more than 20 years of management experience and has worked in all levels of the industry. Erik studied computer science at University of Maryland and met Sean Duffy when both were completing Plumbers Union apprenticeships after college. He quickly built a reputation as a problem-solver capable of handling everything from sales and accounting to employee hiring and training.
With a combined 60 years of experience, Sean and Erik have worked at all levels of the industry. When it comes down to it, whether you're a technician or company president, it's all about respect. At H&D Mechanical, we believe it's important for employees at all levels to feel proud of their work, so we strive to cultivate an environment in which everyone is a stakeholder in the business and feels like they're part of the family.
