The Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts (SPA) is a public charter high school for students grades 9-12 who are passionate about the Performing Arts; Music, Theatre, Dance, or Media/Film Production. Located in Salt Lake City, SPA students have the unique opportunity to gain exceptional training in all aspects of the performing arts while reaching a high level of academic success.

SPA seeks to instill in its students the life skills of creativity, confidence, collaboration, communication, and leadership. Faculty, staff, and administration encourage self-expression, nurture self-esteem, and challenge the imagination. SPA offers a unique performing arts curriculum focused on the individual.

Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts (SPA) embodies a unique approach to education for high school age students who are interested in the performing arts. We are a charter school that is sponsored by the Salt Lake School District. This allows us to be a tuition-free school as well as ensures that we provide an excellent academic experience to our students.
Registration at the Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts is easy, we are here to help walk you through it. The very first step is to fill out the registration form so that we have enough information to be able to serve you. Applications for admission need to be received prior to registration. New student and late registration is ongoing.
Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts is an inclusive environment that values academic rigor and creativity in performing arts instruction. SLSPA seeks to instill in its students the life skills of creativity, confidence, collaboration, communication, and leadership. The Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts (SPA) is a public charter high school for students who are passionate about the performing arts - Music, Dance, and Theatre. The school opened in Fall 2006 and was located on the campus of Highland High School.

Having outgrown the wing of HHS they were occupying, they were moved to the former Rosslyn Heights Elementary where they retrofitted the entire school into a fabulous space for the performing arts.SPA students currently attend their academic core classes at Highland High School and their performing arts-related classes at the SPA campus which is just three blocks from Highland High.
SPA has a long tradition of bringing home trophies from the Utah Shakespeare Festival Competition, the Utah Musical Theatre Awards, Region and State Solo and Ensemble, and Region and State Drama competitions and more. Below is a highlighted list of some of the many awards and recognition received by Students at SLSPA, and it is by no means comprehensive.
