We emphasize the importance of periodontal care to prevent gum disease for our patients. Periodontal disease ranges from a mild inflammation of the gum tissues to periodontitis, a major oral disease that can result in soft tissue and bone damage and even tooth loss. If it is left untreated, it can harm the teeth and jaw, especially in adulthood. Fortunately, if this condition is caught early enough and properly treated, its effects can be managed. In cases when there is a healed implant candidate site that does not have enough bone to support an implant, new bone must be grown in that area. Dr. Stella and Callie were so comforting to me from my first visit on. I have been terrified of seeing a peridontist for years, and this office took those fears away. I highly recommend them. Also, the ladies at the front desk have been lovely and personable which always makes a dental visit more relaxed. I give a 5 star rating.

I highly recommend Tar Heel Periodontics. I was so nervous and scared but the staff put me at ease through every step; Andrea was so patient and kind from the 1st moment I walked in. Ashely explained the process and payment options, and they even picked up my flipper at my dentist's office.

My experience with Tar Heel Periodontics was an amazing one. Just getting my teeth cleaned can be very nerve racking. I had to have a graphing procedure to help with recession. I was very nervous not knowing what to expect. Walking into Tar Heel Periodontics, everyone I came into contact with were friendly and super helpful. My consultation with Dr. Stella was very thorough and helpful with knowing what was going to happen during and after the procedure. When I went in the day of the procedure, I was greeted by an amazing assistant Callie who right away became a friend. Very personal and comforting

I’ve never met a surgeon or dental assistant as genuine and caring as the ones I encountered here. They comforted me in one of the scariest times in my life, and they did not leave my side until all my questions were answered. My experience with Tar Heel Periodontics and Implant Dentistry was a very positive experience. Dr. Stella listened to my concerns, addressed and explained the treatment and procedure involved. I felt comfortable in his care. Callie was also very knowledgeable and helpful. Her friendly presence made me feel comfortable and well cared for. They have earned my trust, and I will go back if I have more dental problems.

I can't recommend these folks highly enough. I had my initial consult at the Wake Forest location and the procedure and follow-up at the Raleigh location. The staff at both places is fantastic. Dr. Kretchmer was very thorough and explained everything in terms I could easily understand. Also want to call out Rudy specifically--I have some pretty crippling anxiety when it comes to dental work, and Rudy was a huge help in that regard. He did as much as he possibly could to make sure that I was as comfortable as I could be both at the consult and the procedure, took extra time to go over my post-care
