If you've had an abnormal pap smear, then you'll need a colposcopy. This is where we look more closely at your cervix with a microscope. We may do small biopsies have any abnormal appearing areas. These biopsies should be relatively painless. At the end, if biopsies are done, we place monsel's solution on the cervix to help the site heal.
During a pelvic exam, a health care provider examines your pelvic area. It includes your vulva and your internal reproductive organs - your cervix, ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, and vagina. During your pelvic exam, your provider will look for signs of infection and other conditions. It will most likely include taking a few cells from your cervix for a Pap test.
Hysterectomy is the second-most common significant operation performed on females inside the United States. Laparoscopically assisted vaginal hysterectomy (LAVH) is a surgical procedure using a laparoscope to guide the removal of the uterus and/or Fallopian tubes and ovaries through the vagina (birth canal).
Stress incontinence is an involuntary loss of urine that occurs during physical activity, such as coughing, sneezing, laughing, or exercise. In stress incontinence, the sphincter muscle and the pelvic muscles, which support the bladder and urethra, are weakened. The sphincter is not able to prevent urine flow when there is increased pressure from the abdomen (such as when you cough, laugh, or lift something heavy).
The MonaLisa Touch is a fast, painless, hormone-free laser treatment to treat vaginal dryness, itching, painful intercourse, and other symptoms that are often associated with menopause. Since a woman has less estrogen during this stage of her life, the vaginal walls become thinner, drier, and more irritated.
