Our mission, as a Catholic educational community, is to prepare students academically, spiritually, and morally for the opportunities and responsibilities of the future. Assumption High School is a Catholic high school located in Davenport, Iowa.
At an initial cost of $2.4 million, Assumption High School would have never been possible without the support of Bishop Ralph Hayes and the 12 parishes within Scott County in 1958: Holy Family, Our Lady of Lourdes, Sacred Heart, St. Alphonsus, St. Ann, St. Anthony, St. Henry, St. James, St. Joseph, St. Mary, St. Paul the Apostle, and St. Peter.Assumption became co-educational in 1969.

Services
Assumption offers a challenging curriculum designed to give students a solid foundation in preparation for life beyond high school. College and AP classes are offered on campus to introduce students to the rigor of college coursework. A Learning Resource Center (LRC) is also available for those students who may need academic support and enrichment.
The Assumption High School Fine Arts Department believes in creating an encouraging and supportive atmosphere in which students and teachers talk about, view, listen to, and create fine art, giving students the opportunity to be creative and expressive, to build on the concepts they are exposed to, and to carve out individual and team successes.
Assumption High School offers a wide variety of athletic experiences in 11 boys sports and 10 girls sports as well as competitive and spirit cheerleading and dance. Assumption has won 56 team state championships including 54 in the past 30 years. This amazing amount of success does not include the numerous state titles earned by individuals, or our cheer and dance teams.
Assumption High School opened its doors in 1958 as a merger of St. Ambrose Academy and Immaculate Conception Academy. Since that time, countless students have crossed the stage as graduates of this fine institution. It is always exciting to hear of the many ways alumni are using their God-given gifts to make a difference in the world.
