Tom was great to work with. I purchased a house with an existing system that I was having issues with. He came in provided a recommendation of things that could be done and then was responsive to making edits based on needs and budget. Once we agreed on a plan he came in and set everything up perfectly. He even delivered a few extras that i was not expecting. Would definitely recommend using again.

I've had other security and internet services out to look at my apartment building but they always seemed to make me more confused about the options than I was before. Tom was different. He was really invested in making sure I had the most streamlined, cost-effective, integrated systems. He explained my options so well that I actually understood what I was getting. Tom was absolutely fantastic. He first did an initial walk through to understand what I was looking for (couple TVs mounted, speaker system installation, re-wiring, etc.). He recommended lower-priced and higher-priced options and provided the pros and cons of each. Extremely disappointing experience with Tom. Called and scheduled an appointment and was initially optimistic based on the phone conversation. Tom said he would come the next day at 8am to look at what needed to be done. 8.10 rolls around - no sign of Tom. I called him and he was pretty nonchalant and said he was busy with "errands" but would be with me within 30 Mins. I was concerned and it didnt sound as though he was planning on calling me to say he was running late which is the courteous thing to do. Unfortunately I can't give a raving review here. Admittedly I'm a picky client. Tom showed me one of his largest jobs to highlight his skills. The project he did on my house was a big job. The issues started from the beginning. Tom proposed some pretty high tech stuff, but didn't totally understand how it all worked. We continually had problems with the system he installed. It took quite awhile to fix each issue because he wasn't familiar enough with the system he installed to address these issues. Furthermore, the up and down side of the system was not clearly explained

I called for an estimate and Tom came out within a few days. He was very thorough and gave me an estimate for a few different things I was thinking about doing, including surround sound in my living room and outdoor areas of my home. He also gave me a few different options for brands as well. After considering my options and getting two other estimates (one much higher and the other similar in price but less professional) I set up the appointment and Tom came back out the following week to install everything.

Horrible! The only way to put it. They did an in-ceiling install at my girlfriend's condo and there were some major problems. I called Tom and he was a complete hipster about it ... nihilism, sarcasm...you know the type. Basically, they didn't make it right.

Tom was incredible.
I didn't have the biggest job, but it was time consuming - and Tom treated me and the job like it was a major project.
I wanted my living room sound system wired to a new speaker on my balcony. Tom managed to unobtrusively wire the the line through my baseboards and out a miniscule gap of weather stripping on my balcony door (almost floor to cieling glass!). He supplied a solid speaker at a competitive rate as well.
Oh, and while he was there, he also mounted and wired a flat television on our bedroom wall. Again - you hardly knew he cut through drywall. He

Tom Burns not only takes the time to not advise you on what Audio/Video equipment you need to meet your specific demand, but he installs them and gives suggestions like he is doing the work on his own home. I highly recommend his work and I liked him so much I hired him again to install motorized curtains!!!

Tom Burns is the owner and primary guy you'll talk to at Hookup Solutions. He did our entire condo. He's been amazing to work with.
