Last June, I had an absolute blast getting to photograph a sultry, sandy session with the dearest Marlo. As one of our Hair and Makeup Mavens, Marlo's strength and vibrancy is nothing less than the cream in my coffee, the honey in my tea. As a boudoir photographer, I ask women to reveal their authentic selves and figured it's time I walk the walk.

We're a part of Joy Street Artist Studios, a diverse group of artists, makers, designers and small businesses located just outside of Union Square in the historic Brickbottom District of Somerville, MA.

Melissa has such amazing energy and such a talent for making women feel like their most confident selves in front of her camera. Mel is incredible. I was SO anxious going into the shoot and really didn't know what to expect. Mel made it a blast and made everything feel so comfortable, carefree and fun. Half of my photos ended up with me cracking up candids as we had so much fun. Then I got my photos back and I was completely blown away. It's clearly me, but such an elevated powerful, beautiful and sexy version of myself. To say I'm obsessed is an understatement. I originally was doing this shoot as a wedding gift, but I couldn't wait and shared the photos with my Fiancé' last night and he was floored. Would give a 6th star

Melissa is the BEST!!! I was a bit nervous for the shoot as I’m kind of uncomfortable when getting my picture taken but Melissa made the experience SO fun and relaxing!! I ended up not wanting the session to end! I also got my makeup and hair done before hand by Marlo and she did and amazing job! I felt so beautiful. It was such an amazing experience and I am so so happy I did it and went to Melissa. HIGHLY recommend!!!

I don't know if there are enough words to describe how amazing my experience with Mel was! I put so much research into looking for a photographer and studio for my first boudoir shoot and choosing Mel was absolutely the right decision. She made me feel so comfortable about the process and she brings such a positive and calming vibe to the shoot. I just had my reveal session and the photographs are stunning! Just had my second photo shoot with Melissa! When scheduling, I had in mind this was for myself. Little did I know I would want to share these pictures with just about everyone! Melissa's soothing nature makes you feel at ease, like you've known her all your life. As you arrive she welcomes you with open arms, eager to connect with your truest self. I've never done a photo-shoot so I had no idea what to do, but she walks you through everything and tells you what poses to do to make you look amazing. Mel was a pleasure to work with from beginning to end. I did the full session with makeup included and Marlo was AMAZING as well... and to have my hair and makeup done while sipping champagne, sign me up! Mel has a great eye as others mentioned and did a great job of posing, providing direction and providing the perfect compliments. I ended that session feeling like a goddess! I initially didn't think I would want the album but with how the photos came out... I COULDNT LIVE WITHOUT IT! And well, my husband agrees :) 10/10 recommend to anyone on the fence - Mel is amazing!

Melissa is so amazing. Not only is she a wonderful photographer who captures your true essence, she has a very warm presence and will make you feel immediately comfortable. If you have any hesitations about posing Melissa has a great eye and works with you to create your best images. She will find your most flattering angles. Many photographers I have previously worked with have a tendency to over edit, Melissa's fine tuning is very subtle and while that may make you nervous I assure you, you will be feeling incredible once you see your finished product. I freeze in front of a camera so I wanted to find a photographer who could help me relax. When I saw Melissa's work and how at ease women looked in lingerie, I knew that she'd be able to get great shots of me fully clothed. She suggested that I also do some lingerie shots as well, just as a reminder for myself of how I looked at 63. I was reluctant at first, but now I'm so glad that I did. Melissa is fabulous! Definitely recommend her to anyone. I was nervous about taking boudoir photos but she was great about eliminating any anxiety and making me feel beautiful and sexy as she took hundreds of shots! She had a quick turnaround time on having the photos ready for viewing, and she even texted me in advance to say how wonderful they had turned out. If this wasn't so pricey, I would do this again in the future! It's a great way to feel beautiful and special - especially after getting my hair & makeup done!
