Planning a funeral service can be a very difficult process for families who have just lost a loved one. But it's important to provide those who are grieving with a supportive environment in which they can begin to find closure, say goodbye, and come to terms with the loss.
Gathering with friends and family gives everyone the opportunity to connect, share memories, offer words of sympathy, and create a lasting network of comfort and support as they start the journey toward healing.Immediate burial means that your loved one will be buried or entombed without a public service or gathering.

Personalization isn't just about honoring your loved one's individuality. It also allows family and friends to feel connected to the services and the life being honored. We work closely with you and your family to get to know your loved one's life story so we can make their services as personal as possible.
We're proud to do our part in honoring our country's veterans. Our duty is to provide you and your family with professional and dignified assistance during your time of need, and we promise to support you in honoring your loved one for their dedication and selfless service. Former military members who served on active duty and departed under honorable conditions.
This means creating a dedicated place for family and friends to connect and remember your loved one. In our modern society, people aren't given enough time to grieve their losses. The pressures of work, even the simple emotional need to 'be busy, ' often bring the bereaved back into the 'real' world far too soon.

We had a wonderful experience with Justin Smith and his team at Edwards Funeral Home in Kinston. He and his team made you feel like they where part of the family during this difficult time in our lives. He also made sure that our love one was transported 4 1/2 hours away to a cemetery in SC and everything went just as planned. Thank you again Justin for your care and compassion.

Looks like my previous post was flagged by the owners for being “inappropriate.” There was nothing inappropriate about it other than the truth!! So here is: I don’t recommend having your loved ones funeral or cremation here. We were twenty dollar short, paid in cash, and they demanded those twenty dollars despite forgetting my grandmother at the funeral home. To begin with, they asked all the men to help get the coffin with my grandmother in it, in the hearse because they said they were “short staffed....” Then on the way to the cemetery we all see the hearse do a u-turn in the middle

Justin Smith and his staff exhibited the highest level of service and compassion to our family while taking care of the final arrangements for our dad. Meeting with the staff was timely and the visitation, service and burial were all conducted in a respectful and dignified manner. Misty was extremely helpful and knowledgeable from beginning to end. Mr Giles Stroud was respectful, accommodating and always available to answer questions, give guidance and consolation. We thank them for being there for us during this difficult time.
