Cardinal Newman High School is a Catholic secondary school located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Santa Rosa, California. Students are prepared for the rigors of university life. They are taught to contribute to the greater community and to lead lives that remain true to the visions of the school's patrons, St. Angela Merici and Blessed John Henry Cardinal Newman.

The Cardinal Newman High School community has committed itself to the principles of Catholic education and academic excellence, as envisioned by our namesake, Saint John Henry Newman. Embracing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the teachings of the Catholic Church, the faculty and staff strive to realize an authentic Christian community, which gives witness to the students and parents alike.
Cardinal Newman High School began as an idea to match a need, the need to provide a Catholic high school for boys in Santa Rosa, the growing center of Sonoma County. Long time established Ursuline High School for girls had moved from the downtown to alongside Mark West Springs Road in the mid 50's and was expanding; parents began to lobby for a school for their sons too.
Cardinal Newman's Art Program is vibrant! Classes within the program include Studio Art, Graphic Design, Music, Guitar, Ensemble/Chorus, and Dance. The art disciplines at Cardinal Newman High School are active throughout the year with lectures, workshops, concerts, performances and galleries.

At CNHS there is something for everyone! Whether your favorite skill is acting, playing an instrument, using your Spanish skills, or developing your leadership skills, you can get it all here! You are encouraged to get involved in campus life and contribute to your high school. You'll soon feel the Cardinal Newman pride that we all enjoy!
