I accidentally stumbled across this gem when grabbing pizza next door. I was drawn in by the numerous amazing sculptures on the lawn, and ended up taking one home!
Inside is seriously a maze of incredible, handmade goods from all over. You won't find these treasures anywhere else, I promise.
The owners are committed to exposing America to the art and textiles of other cultures, and eager to tell you all about them.
I left with some jewelry, a neat snail sculpture made from all reclaimed "trash" metal scraps, some hand carved sandstone, a hand carved crucifix, and a purse. Nothing

Very unique arts shop. Origins from France and African countries. But more African than French. Quite unexpected to find art from Malawi, Ghana, Senegal, South Africa, Madagascar in Pittsboro. For sure you will find ornaments and decorations that you haven't seen elsewhere. It's an old house converted into a shop. On the front lawn and porch there are so many large tin metal figures shaped into animals, anything from crickets to pigs and dinosaurs. Some of them very colorful. At first I wasn't sure if I just trespassed onto someone's private property, but then I saw the Open

This place is gorgeous and definitely worth a stop. Electric mixture of items that were clearly handpicked from travels. If you're looking for unique fabric, this is your place. There are cool masks, woven bags, towels, and a million other things to check out. I personally went for a bracelet that was very mildly priced for the amount of aesthetic appeal delivered.

We drove by here on the way to chapel hill and I had to stop. The yard is cluttered with awesome metal structures, everything from giant roosters to metal flowers. When you go inside it's more of an African theme with lots of fabrics and other odds and ends. I did end up buying a metal flower that I will put in my garden.

Unless you've toured Bourdeaux, France, or have the unlimited wealth required to spend on obscenely priced Pierre Deux*, I'm not sure you'll appreciate exactly what a treasure this is to have locally. No matter!
Bolts upon bolts of authentic French country fabrics, floor to ceiling, and leaning along walls and windows...felt like a decorator's Willy Wonka factory, and I had to resist the urge to jump into an April Cornell-inspired mosh pit.
If you decide to actually do something practical, but lack the skill, they can recommend a local seamstress to make drapes and pillows

You can not miss this business. Well as you drive by you will see it right away. They have the yard jammed with Yard Art. Yep, you can not miss it. Very interesting place inside, lots of different things. Reminded me of a Jamican Flea Market but wuth interesting things.
Lots of bright colored raw fabrics.
Stop by you will enjoy what they have to offer. I bet you go home with something. How about a 10 foot Rooster for your yard ?

France meets Africa in this house in Pittsboro, and somehow hundreds of lawn animals are spawned.
You can't miss the place, as the grass, porch, and sides of the house are covered in anything you can think of shaped from metal (some painted colorfully, some not). Inside the rooms are bursting with baskets, jewelry, fabrics, tapestries, glassware, art (a good amount of telephone wire and recycled/soda can from Africa), soaps, antiques... It was a little overwhelming.
The couple working was incredibly helpful and friendly, and explained the unexpected combination of cultures, touching on
