HME Specialists was founded in 2001, by four New Mexicans who wanted to build a different kind of medical equipment company. Their vision has been to create something local with the same level of medical equipment offered by larger, national suppliers, but with a higher standard of personalized service.
Oxygen therapy is a treatment that provides you with supplemental oxygen. Although oxygen therapy may be common in the hospital, it can also be used at home. There are several devices used to deliver oxygen at home. Oxygen is usually delivered through nasal prongs (an oxygen cannula) or a face mask.
HME Specialists offers both Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV) as well as Invasive Ventilation for patients with neuromuscular disease, thoracic restrictive disease, and chronic respiratory failure related to COPD. NIV is the delivery of a respiratory support to a patient using an external interface. Unlike invasive ventilation, NIV does not interfere with the patient's upper airways and preserves their ability to speak, cough, and swallow.
HME Specialists serves both the pediatric and adult population with sleep-related products and services such as Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) and Bi-Level Positive Airway Pressure (Bi-PAP), emphasizing patient care and compliance. HME Specialists is committed to providing the latest technology and care in enteral nutrition and feeding. This therapy requires personal care and compassionate services to enhance your or your loved one's nutritional function. We are experts in providing the initial delivery and instruction of the feeding pump, specialized formula, and reoccurring supplies.

I called to set up an appointment for a CPAP fitting, waited 48 minutes, once answered the fella was responsive but then he had to put me on hold to "check something" and when he came back he acted like he couldn't hear me and hung up. Oh, he could hear me because no one comes back on a line yelling "I can't hear you" yet pauses when I say something.
Do your research and take your business elsewhere. I did.

I would have left 5 stars, except for the nearly 30 minute wait on the phone. Once connected, the agent was exceptional. I have great confidence that my needs were heard and that the supplies that I ordered will be delivered correctly.

I wish there was anything less than a one star. This company shouldn't even be running. It has almost been 2 and a half weeks since they were suppose to pick up oxygen tanks and A oxygen machine and it is still sitting in my drive way. Not only have they drove by, but they completely ruined my driveway plus they left the tanks and machine. The drive also said he didn't care about the tanks or anything, so I'm guessing he doesn't care if he loses he's job. This place just needs to either be shut down or hire people would will actually do their job.

I am an HME customer for CPAP supplies, incontinence supplies and oxygen supplies. It is extremely difficult to order my supplies and to receive the correct supplies. Long wait times when trying to reach customer service. Calls are never returned. I've left over 7 voicemails in 2+ weeks, and never a return call. Can't get my supplies on a schedule or auto ship program. Customer service sucks!

I wish I could leave less than one star. HME has to be one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with in my lifetime. My health insurance company mandates that I have to use them for my CPAP supplies. Knowing that my deductible insurance year was almost up I tried ordering in early Dec. I waited for 40 minutes before giving up and ordering what I needed from Amazon. A week later the computer calls and takes my order. Two weeks go by and I get a call from a human stating I needed to pay for my order because they didn't get the order until January and couldn't process it under last year....when

I rate hme one star because they take advantage of me when my appointment was for tomorrow and not Friday! They don't care about the client and they come by whenever they want too. So I might have to go with another company and hme only want money they all they want. And I'm very sick and tired of being used for insurance money! They have to think about the client and not the clients insurance money!

I am so disappointed with the service we received. My mother was dying. She needed suction and oxygen. The O2 and a non-operational suction machine were delivered within an hour and a half after they were ordered, about 5 pm. We were promised that a replacement suction machine would be delivered later in the evening. O2 bottles were delivered but no suction machine. We called our hospice agency and HME directly; each, 4 different times, still no suction machine. That machine would have made my mother so much more comfortable in her last hours. If you have an option to utilize services from this

Good luck getting your prescribed equipment from this place. All empty promises. Someone “will call you back” and never does. Your equipment is “out for delivery today” and never shows. “Still waiting for prior authorization” after you gave them the insurer prior authorization number days and days ago. If they ran a funeral home nobody would die. Stay away.

Hello. I am not one to rant. However. This medical company is probably the worst one I’ve ever had to deal with in my life. They sent me the wrong equipment. Trying to get somebody on the phone is nearly impossible. When I did get somebody on the phone they don’t understand the problem they created. It’s been a nightmare. Our insurance company finally dealt with them. They were not happy. Finally had to switch to a local company that seems to be fabulous.
