Let us know if you would like to join one of our Open Water Courses (Call or stop by the shop to register). If needed, you have the option to enroll in a private class. Also, you have the option to get a referral to complete your open water dives at your travel destination. The open water course consist of three pillars; three academic sessions, two/three pool sessions, and four open water dives.
Have you always wondered what it's like to breathe and feel weightlessness while swimming underwater? If you want to try scuba diving, but aren't sure that you're ready to take the steps towards becoming a certified diver, PADI Discover Scuba Diving is a great way to find out whether or not scuba is for you.
The PADI Divemaster course is for divers serious about taking scuba to the next level. Being a Divemaster means being a professional diver, as it is the first step on the PADI professional ladder. Though a Divemaster is not certified to teach, they are qualified to guide and mentor certified divers, assist instructors with courses, and act as role models for other divers.
Portsmouth Scuba recently teamed up with award winning photographer/videographer Steve De Neef to offer photo workshops catered to any level. In these one or two day workshops we guarantee your photography will improve immensely. Steve can also join you during courses and dives to capture it all. ABOVE AND BEYOND! We are truly grateful to Chuck. We had a last minute snafu with our SCUBA certification plan down in the Bahamas. Chuck was amazing. He went above and beyond, offering to setup last minute confined diving for our family. We are truly grateful and would definitely send any friends and family to Chuck if they had any interest in getting certified. Thank you, Chuck. We really appreciated your efforts.

Great great owner of the dive store. Chuck is one of the most friendly guy you will ever meet! Classes are just fantastic if you wanna be a certified diver.
The first impression you will have when you walk into the store is everything is clean and well organized, the shop looks brand new, even though it has been around for soo many years. All the instructors are experienced and have been diving for many many years. So if you wanna explore the ocean, this place is a fantastic starting point of your diving career.

I was visiting Portsmouth in mid May and called for info on easy dive sites and to price rental gear. I was pleasantly surprised when the owner, Chuck, offered to join us! No way i could turn down that offer!!!! There is nothing like diving with a local and Chuck was fantastic. His rental gear was top notch, brand new for the up coming season and priced fair. Terry at the shop was a fantastic help getting us geared up and answering our questions. She was very knowledgeable and fun to work with. I look forward to many more encounters with Portsmouth Scuba. I am a diver from England. When I first moved to the US one of the first things I did was find a local dive shop which was PADI. I was met by friendly staff. Which were very informative in lots of aspects of diving. The shop was clean and good maintained and was stocked with good dive equipment. For both novice and experienced divers. I highly recommend this dive shop and PADI dive school to any new diver or pro diver.

Simply the best dive shop in the Seacoast area! Jay is a dedicated business owner that stands behind what he sells. He freely shares his knowledge and love of diving with anyone lucky enough to be within range of his shop. I have visited many dive shops over the past 20 years and always end up back at Portsmouth Scuba for advice and purchases.
