Mr. David Sweeney is a remarkably fine attorney. When you approach his office door, you may be assured that not only the law is beyond that door. Beyond that door is justice as well. It was my lucky day that this extraordinarily fine gentleman became my attorney. I will always be grateful to Mr. Sweeney for all he did for me.
Prior to coming to the realization that their debts are overwhelmingly out of control, the majority of Memphis bankruptcy filers usually have stopped making payments over a fair amount of time already. If you're still in the early stages of nonpayment such that you have just started to get the menacing letters and threatening phone calls, you should be aware of what is likely to follow, depending on the type of creditor you're dealing with.
You can file a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy every eight years with the time starting at discharge (the end of your case) as opposed to the filing date. You can file for Bankruptcy Chapter 13 four years after receiving a discharge from a Chapter 7. If you previously received a Chapter 13 discharge, you cannot get another Chapter 13 discharge within two years.
By the time you're asking yourself that question, the situation has probably gotten pretty bad. If a creditor has initiated a lawsuit against you, it is the time to determine whether or not filing for bankruptcy is a good idea. I Would not recommend this firm to anyone !! My case was dismissed because I lost my job.. 4 years later I'm being sued ! For legal fees when we could've settled this 4 years ago instead of waiting with no contact whatsoever up until now! Yea Sweeny really knows how to kick you when your down! Not to mention with a pandemic going on! Stay away from lawyers who mail you out the blue cause if your case gets dismissed he will wait for years then sue you!

Very disorganized, poor answering service, Lisa the assistant is very unprofessional and rude. If we weren’t already financially committed we would go somewhere else.

Mr Sweeney is a consummate professional. He conducts himself in a manner that makes you as comfortable as possible in a difficult situation. This is no bankruptcy mill like many other offices are. He works to do what's best for you and has a very encouraging and compassionate way about him that swiftly puts you at ease. You never feel like an inconvenience to deal with when it comes to Mr Sweeney. You feel as if you're his only client and he follows through on everything he says. Absolutely GREAT person to deal with.
