Lower back pain is the most common cause for a work-related disability and one of the main reasons for people staying home from work. The lower back is one of the most important parts of the body as it holds most of our body weight when we stand and is involved in movement when we bend or twist at the waist.
Facet joint syndrome is a condition that occurs when the facet joints of the spine become damaged or worn out. The facet joints are the small joints located between the bones of the spine; they are lined with cartilage and synovial fluid that allows them to glide easily over each other. They are also intertwined with nerves that run from the spinal cord to the arms, legs and other parts of the body.
Although these injections are generally safe and effective, sterilization is of great importance. There is a slight chance of infection or blood clots, and the remote possibility of allergic reaction. This procedure is considered investigational due to limited data available from studies of the long-term effects of this treatment.
ESIs contain cortisone and an anesthetic, and are delivered directly to the epidural space, which is the area between the spinal cord and the outer membrane that covers the brain and spinal cord (the dura). As a result, they provide more effective and faster pain relief than oral medications. Candidates for epidural steroid injections have back pain, and/or pain radiating down the arms and legs.

I have been seeing Dr. Jafri at the Genesis Pain Clinic in Overland Park for the past several weeks. I was a mess with over 20 years of chronic joint pain associated with advanced osteoarthritis and degenerative joint disease. My knees had gotten so painful I’ve had to resort to a wheelchair for long distances. My health history makes me a poor surgical risk so a pain clinic was my best option. As a retired RN with 40 years under my belt, I also presented with other issues becoming more difficult to deal with. Depression, panic attacks, PTSD and anxiety disorder was negatively impacting my life

I once thought of Dr Jafri as one of the best physicians. I don’t know what happened, Ot was almost like he became angry that my pain was not responding to procedures. He would go out of his way to make me comfortable and talk me through everything and then there was a huge change, The front receptionist became rude and had a god complex and would talk to you like you were some third class citizen. Unacceptable. I can’t remember what led to having to have a conversation with Sr.Jafri one day but he was so nasty and actually hung up on me. I was absolutely devastated and the crux of the conversation

I went in here with back problems I had due to a car accident. They handled the situation very well even though they typically don't take PI patients. Dr. Jafri was great and I loved his nurse that assists in the procedures although she told me her name but I don't remember it. They always checked my pain and where and slowly did steps to treating it. I love how he also doesn't go straight to opiates for pain medicine. I would refer all my Friends to them if they needed a place to go! Thank you everything you guys have done to help!!!

Dr. Jafri did the PRP (platelet rich plasma) procedure on me at the beginning of May 2021 after over a year of us trying to get my low back to quit hurting (I had a foot injury 11/2019 and had neen limping from it). We had tried everything and this was my last hope. I have had wonderful results. I have gone from averaging a 7/10 pain level everyday to a 2! I definitely recommend Genesis Pain Clinic and especially the PRP procedure if you are thinking about it.

Dr. Jafri is the most amazing Dr. He will explain all details and answer all questions. He never rushes patients in and out and tries so hard to deflect pain during a procedure. He has helped me more than words can say. He has the best personality and cares. I highly recommend him to patients who need a good Pain Management Dr. He also has a completely new staff who are full of empathy for all patients. They are an excellent group of providers and I can’t say enough about Dr.J!!!!

Abusive tactics across the board by this doctor and his ever-changing office staff. Another amateur-hour clinic that will soon likely be shut down.
Update: This office is incapable of taking a payment arrangement, it's beyond them. When they couldn't figure it out, they accused me of giving them a "fake debit card"--it was the same one they had just taken an in office payment on. Obviously works. Literally no other office I've ever been to has trouble taking payments or arrangements, and they also aren't strangely rude and accusatory about it. Amateur office.

Dr Jafri gave me an option to relieve the pain in my knee, but I was extremely unhappy at his lack of professionalism when I asked a polite question. When I arrived, they gave me a cup and asked for a urine sample, I was told it was for drug testing which I expected. However, when I opened the little door to put the cup in for them to collect, there were FOUR other cups of urine from other people sitting in there already.

Be prepared to be yelled at, insulted, and neglected by Dr. Jafri. Unless you want to spend thousands of dollars every year getting painful procedures, just to be berated by him every time you need a pain med refill, AVOID HIM.
Forget about seeing the same staff each time you go. There is a revolving door since staff members can't tolerate his tantrums for long either.
