St. Mary's Villa was founded in 1924 by a Passionist priest, Rev. Alphonsus Maria, who emigrated from Lithuania. With the fervor of the missionary spirit, he answered the call of his fellow countrymen, women and their children in the area of Scranton, Pennsylvania. Rev. Alphonsus and the religious order he founded, the Poor Sisters of Jesus Crucified and the Sorrowful Mother, established an orphanage and a home for the elderly.

Amazing facility with awesome staff! My mom has been there a few years and they treat all so well. The activities, the friends she’s made. Way above any other facility within miles and miles

This is the worst place. The residents on the first floor are treated great, but on the second floor they are not alert and orientated and they are thrown around. The director of nursing is spiteful and management isn't great and will stab you in the back along with covering up incident reports. Do not take your family members here! And if you're going for the cna class here, don't even bother. They put you through the course and then refuse to send your paperwork into the state so you can take the test!
