We provide standard crane and hoist solutions as well as custom overhead material handling systems and below the hook lifting devices engineered for your specific needs.

Additionally, we provide parts and service for many makes and brands of hoists and crane equipment. Our engineering and fabrication facilities are located in Cedar Falls, Iowa with application engineers based out of Davenport and Fort Dodge, Iowa. Our design and applications team utilize the latest 3D CAD modeling software and design tools.
Services
AFE Crane has been providing standard and customized overhead material handling equipment since 1983. Previous to 2016, AFE Crane was known as American Fabricators & Engineers at which time we updated our name to AFE Crane, reflecting our core business of overhead cranes.

We provide a wide range of equipment, from slings and chain hoists to custom below the hook lifting devices and complex automated monorail carriers, specialty cranes, and stackers. We are respected distributors for multiple hoist and overhead equipment manufacturers and offer both new equipment as well as repair parts.
AFE Crane knows that maximizing safety as well as preventing equipment failures and downtime are top priorities for all of our customers. Because of this, we are dedicated to keeping your overhead material handling equipment in proper operating condition. Our trained service technicians are experts at inspecting, repairing, upgrading and installing the latest in overhead material handling systems.
Truss cranes are built using a single bridge girder supported by two trusses. The trusses allow the span of the crane to be up to 125' and capacities up to 10 ton. Typically, truss cranes provide better available lift but can sacrifice in terms of overhead clearances compared to conventional girder bridge cranes.
A Below-the-Hook (BTH) lifting device is classified as a device used for attaching a load to a hoist. Rigging is the simplest form of BTH devices, which includes but is not limited to: chains, hooks, shackles and load rings. Despite its simplicity, rigging is a versatile solution when lifting loads of different sizes and shapes, or when consistent lifting points cannot be guaranteed.
Monorail systems move materials and parts in a fixed path using a single rail. An overhead monorail systems is an excellent solution when moving parts from station-to-station in an assembly facility, when storing/queueing parts overhead to save floor space, or staging parts in a paint booth or similar.

Report
AFE Crane has provided several large crane and rigging systems for us. As a manufacturer in the Wind Energy industry we are dependent upon safe and effective crane systems for our production processes. AFE has always provided great input at the system design level and the most professional and effective installation crews we have worked with.
We have several crane systems as well as specially designed lifting beams and rigging systems for handling large components. With AFE's help we have been able to quickly and economically expand the capabilities of our cranes and rigging to accommodate ever
