Engagement sessions are fun. They give you the opportunity to get some great pictures of you and your partner and to see how it is to work with your photographer. There are many great natural outdoor locations in the Oakland and Berkeley hills. San Francisco and Marin are excellent spots for an engagement shoot too.
His photos are BEAUTIFUL, ARTISTIC, and capture all the key moments. He's also pleasant to be around, easygoing, and won't keep you for hours on end to take posed photos when you'd rather be mingling with your guests. GABRIEL'S AMAZING and if you're considering booking him, stop considering and do it already.

I couldn't recommend Gabriel more. We hired Gabriel to shoot our COVID-era wedding at Hacienda de las Flores in Moraga, CA in August 2021. I was attracted to Gabriel's work because he shot my friends' wedding in Oakland years earlier - his photos are fun, beautiful, and have stunning composition and color. Gabriel is the best! Our family and friends loved his presence at our wedding. Not only did he take wonderful photos, he was also a fun guest! His ability to put people at ease helped everyone enjoy themselves - and we got wonderfully candid photos! We were lucky to have found Gabriel through our venue's recommended vendor list. What an amazing photographer! After reviewing his work on his website, my husband and I were in love with his style. He captures a lot of great candid moments, and the photos felt like works of art I would love to hang in my home.
I had a short phone call with him, and booked him for an engagement shoot and our two wedding ceremonies. We had a lot of fun with him on our engagement shoot, and it gave us a chance to get to know him/his style better before the wedding! We were really pleased with the photos.

Gabriel shot our wedding in January 2021. Unfortunately, I was only able to give Gabriel a 1 star rating because, as great as he was to work with, our wedding photos were very disappointing. I hired him because I loved his photos, but the photos we received from our wedding were nothing like his photos from other weddings or his usual style of photography. I am still frustrated at the quality of his photos as they lack the sincerity he put into his other work. The price he charged did not reflect the quality of photos I received.

Gabriel doesn't disappoint and we are glad that now we have some fun photos to look back on, and our kid and dog had a great time with Gabriel visiting. Hiring Gabriel to be our wedding photographer was the best decision we made throughout the entire wedding planning process. He really captured the essence of our wedding, and his photos will be our memories for years to come.
If you want prescriptive, posed photos of you and your favorite people, I'd recommend you go elsewhere. However, if you want to capture the heart and soul of you and your partner, friends, and family on your wedding day, there isn't a photographer more suited than Gabriel Harber.

Gabriel photographed my wedding in July and was amazing! He put everyone at ease, and got people people to break out of their typical posed smiles. He was really easy going, approachable, and fantastic to work with overall. The photos turned out beautifully. We had a wonderful wedding up near Yosemite. The weather could not have been any better, and neither could our photographer. Gabriel took us through some very initial steps for the event. Guiding us on how to run our ceremony around picture taking. When it's best to take family pics and then couple shots of the bride and groom. Gabriel was our wedding photographer (July 2014) and since then he did our maternity photo shoot and new born photos. One of the things we love most about Gabriel is that he knows how to make you feel comfortable during the photo shoots. Whether it's his knowledge of bees or how to make ginger beer, he'll find something to make the time very enjoyable. We believe his photos are amazing. There is a subtlty which we like about them and we believe he knows how to capture his clients personalities into the photos. We'd recommend him to anyone looking for a photographer.

Finding a wedding photographer in the Bay Area is tough - there are so many options. Luckily, I reached out to friends for recommendations. A friend tried to book Gabriel for her wedding, but he was already booked. Even though she was happy with her wedding photographer, she urged me to check out Gabriel. After reviewing his website, I realized that this man captures all the best moments of a wedding. We booked him ASAP and never once questioned our decision.

Gabriel is the man. He went so far above and beyond to accommodate our somewhat unorthodox requests. For example, we rode a tandem bicycle from Mexico to Canada before getting engaged so we wanted some shots of us riding with a blurred background for our engagement pictures. To shoot this, he brought along an accomplice who rode Gabriel's bucket bike with him in the bucket riding along next to us to accomplish what we had envisioned.
