Windhorse Elder Care is a locally owned business serving families in Boulder County since 2000. Our caregivers are employees instead of independent contractors and most hold advanced degrees and training in chaplaincy, personal care, counseling, social work, or gerontology.
Ongoing employee education is essential and our staff participates annually in specialized training, earning us a Leaders in Dementia Care Certification through the Alzheimer's association.We strive to provide heartfelt skilled care and support to the families we serve in an effort to allow our clients to remain independent and thriving for as long as possible.

Windhorse takes an individualized approach to the personal and domestic care needs of elders. The care team collaborates with the client and their family, tailoring the care plan to preferences and life styles, so that the elder can remain in the home of their choosing for as long as they desire. The goal is to create an environment in which the elder can feel truly comfortable and supported.

Our mission is to provide mindful, holistic home-based care and case management. Our services begin with a no cost initial comprehensive assessment of abilities, needs, desires, environment, and functional abilities.
We have a range of costs for services such as direct care shifts, case management, and team meetings that we will review thoroughly with clients before starting care. Our fees for direct care shifts are competitive with other agencies in the region and start at $29/hr, depending on client needs and length of shift.
We offer a unique approach to elder care. Our staff clinicians are comprised of extensively trained home health care providers with graduate degrees in psychology and related fields. Our clinicians take on a relationship with clients as a practice in awareness to use ordinary day-to-day activities as an opportunity to deepen the relationship and their capacity for compassion in every situation.
