Services
ABC Waste was originally founded by James Hodges and Ellen Flinchum-Hodges in 1956, the same year Elvis Presley came to Savannah. In the years leading up, they were running their business just outside of Savannah in a town called Claxton. It wasn't until 1952 that Ellen took the money she had earned during her time with the FBI and purchased the first garbage truck of their fleet.
ABC Waste began business in 1956, specializing in residential trash removal. Over the years we have expanded and perfected our trash collection procedures in order to provide our customers with the most reliable and efficient pick up service possible. Our clean, DOT certified trucks are operated by a team of skilled drivers who are your friends, family, neighbors, and members of the community.
We care about encouraging a cleaner environment and as such, we are increasing our efforts to make recycling in your area easier and more convenient. ABC Waste proudly provides Curbside Recycling to neighborhoods throughout Savannah. We provide one 96 gallon cart for single-stream recycling, which means the members of your household do not have to separate any of our recyclable materials.

Johnathan, Marcus, and Kenneth who work for ABC came this Friday to pick up our trash and I happened to be at the window. I saw that some loose pieces fell to the street. I figured I’d go out and get them later. After they got my neighbors can the fellow bent over and picked up the debris and tossed it in the truck. I got on my phone and called to pay them a compliment for their professional service. When the guy explained that they lift 1000 cans a day that average over 70 lbs I found his actions superb. Thank you for all you do and the “little things” do get noticed. Well done guys!

I pay extra for the house side service and 9/10 weeks they are incapable of putting the can all the way back, and the remaining week they just don’t pick up because it’s “not out”. I’ve reported the issue MULTIPLE times and I’m about done. They have ONE MORE mess up and I’m switching. This is not difficult. 😡

Across the street in front of my neighbors house. Thought it would be a good idea to just leave the trash on the street. Then I saw them drive back around to exit the neighborhood. I stopped them and pointed to the mess, and they just drove off. Called the company, and she asked if it fell out of the can or out of the truck. Does it matter? Is it okay to leave trash in the street? Throw it back in their trash can if you have to, but to just leave it after you clearly saw it? Savannah has a terrible littering

I work for a general contractor [Alair Homes Savannah]. and we have recently converted most of our dumpster services to ABC. It has been an amazing experience in terms of service. They have been quick to get our dumpsters swapped out and were very accommodating to our needs and requests. We even recently saw our driver, Charles, get out of the truck to pick up additional trash that had fallen out or not quite made it to the dumpster. Wonderful example of going the extra mile. We look forward to a long and fun relationship with ABC.

We do a lot of larger projects in the Savannah area, and ABC Waste is always our go to company for dumpster service. We currently have a project going on that has anywhere from 3-5 dumpsters on site, and ABC is doing service on anywhere from 3 to all 5 of them daily!
Everyone at ABC is a pleasure to deal with...no matter if your working with drivers for dumpster placement, dispatch for swaps/deliveries/removals, or billing to get them paid, they take their customer service serious, and truly strive to be the best hauler in Savannah!

If I could leave a negative number instead of a one star review, I would. We have had this service for about 14 years with a few problems, but nothing huge. Recently, we have been missed multiple weeks in a row. In the last 3 and 1/2 months, we have not had our garbage picked up seven different weeks. This means that we are not receiving service an average of 1.5 times per 4 week period. We have called... REPEATEDLY!!! No help whatsoever. They never answer the phone or respond to messages that have been left. We are dropping them and it is their own fault... goodbye ABC Waste...we are hiring

To make it short, this company couldn't care less about their own recycling program and is stealing money from their customers by claiming it is functional. The recycling truck had driven right by my house multiple times, and whenever they finally did pick up my recycling bin, it was empty. Why, you ask? THEY DUMPED IT IN THE TRASH TRUCK WITH THE REST OF THE TRASH! This did not just happen 1 time. It happened 4 TIMES. I am shocked by the lack of care shown by their trash collectors. If I can give zero stars I would. We have never been late on payments and this is the 2nd week in a row that our trash was ignored. It has been there since last night in preparation for Friday pickup, there was no car blocking the trash in the curb and there is no construction debris in it whatsoever. And NO ONE ever picks up their phone in this company. If I had another company that I can hire, I would transfer in a heartbeat.
