Many people who seek medical care do not always have a clinically identifiable disease. They are told they have "normal" labs - normal when compared to the rest of the sick population, but a long way from optimal health. Functional medicine doctors use optimal ranges to detect physiological changes.

Evaluating these chemistry shifts enables us to treat the underlying cause of the dysfunction long before there is a diagnosable disease. When we feed our body "empty" foods that supply no value other than to fill our bodies, our bodies start to malfunction. When we eat a clean, healthy diet, we may be stacking the deck in our favor, but there are other uncontrollable factors that may disrupt the process of digestion and absorption.
Services
Boise Naturopathic Medicine is a state of the art naturopathic facility. We take the time to listen to you and understand your health needs and goals. Whether you are trying to improve your health, prevent disease, manage pain, strengthen immunity, or are looking for adjunctive care for illnesses that you are treating with mainstream medicine, we can help you use natural medicine to meet your goals.
We have both a Naturopathic Doctor and a Medical Doctor on staff, allowing us to integrate traditional and innovative treatment plans for our patients. Our clinic provides an atmosphere for even the most sensitive patients. The water and air in our facility are filtered. Each room, including our lobby area, are designed to provide an atmosphere of healing on all levels - mind, body and spirit.
Dr. Shohet has been licensed as a Doctor of Chiropractic since 1982. He received a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine in 2008 and was certified in acupuncture in 2000. As a Functional Medicine Physician since 1982, Dr. Shohet is dedicated to finding and treating the cause of conditions, not simply covering the symptoms.
Our office offers a brief consultation visit, absolutely free of charge. This is an opportunity for you to present your concerns to the Doctor or Nurse Practitioner in a short conversation, where they can address any questions you may have regarding our clinic and how we may be able to best benefit you.
The full New Patient Appointment is approximately 60-90 minutes. During this visit, your medical history and current concerns will be reviewed and discussed. You will also undergo our in-house testing, which includes live cell microscopy. Following this first appointment, you will receive orders for any necessary labs; this further ensures that you are provided with the best and most thorough treatment possible.
