Mom needed a new mattress. Our last mattress purchases were 'blind' purchases online from trusted websites with mixed results. We wanted to try some out this time. We planned to check out Big Lots and a couple of the local private places, but stopped at Mattress Express first. We were the only customers in the store at 7pm. The employee was engaging from the start asking our budget right up front. We don't buy mattresses very often so as much as we think we are informed consumers...we're really not. He reassured us things were clean and sanitized and we could try anything out

I advise mattress shoppers to avoid Mattress Express. Go instead to a major dept. store like Raymour and Flanagan or Macys. They value their reputation. Although it is NYS consumer law and Federal Trade Commission policy to allow a return, not to mention what other major mattress manufacturers brag about in their advertising MATTRESS EXPRESS DOES NOT. Very unpleasant people to deal with. I asked for a return of a mattress never slept on after four days. My bill of sale said I could have a 30-day return option for an additional fee but that was never mentioned. Did not inquire about my hallway
