Woodworking is in the Ballash blood. As a child, Kurt spent afternoons in the shop where his father and grandfather crafted custom cabinets. Driving nails into scrap wood while watching them get lost in the art of their trade, Kurt developed an unspoken love for the process of turning lumber into one-of-a-kind creations.

Kurt first followed in the family footsteps by serving his country. His grandfather served in the Navy during the Korean war; Kurt chose the Army. Just as his own service came to an end, Kurt's grandfather passed away and passed his tools down to Kurt. They provided a Zen-like calm that is not easily achieved after the deployments and rigor of military life.

My husband and I contacted Ballash Woodworks to make and install butcher block countertops for our home. We were less than happy with the service we were provided. We were invoiced for $2,439.60 which included a demo of our existing tops, labor, gas, mileage, standard hardware, and custom walnut countertops with the lip/splash included.
Ballash required a 50% deposit of $1,219.60 to start the project, which we paid. After they bought the materials and were in the process of making our tops, Erin, the office administrator, was now telling us the lip/splash was not in the quote even though it was

So about 1st week of December I woke up with the cool idea of a unique and custom Christmas gift for my wife. On the side from her main job my wife has a home based baking business, which she started earlier during the beginnings of the pandemic as a way to cope with stress. I thought of having made a custom rolling kitchen cart made completely of wood with drawer and cabinet space so she could store her needed baking supplies. The top would be a custom piece of hardwood with her business catch phrase "It's a sweet life" laser engraved on it and then resin treated and stained to make it pop. On

Ballash was amazing from craftsmanship, honesty and punctuality. I cannot give enough thanks to them for recreating my wife’s fathers cigar box. Her parents passed away and her fathers cigar box was one of the last things she had of his. It was then destroyed in a flood and it was beyond repair. Not only did they match the color they used pieces of the original box and recreated the whole thing. They went above and beyond. I will only come here in the future with any projects or woodwork gifts and will recommend them to anyone. Also a plus was their dogs ;) Odie and Luna! Erin was also wonderful

My wife and I have asked the Ballash team to create both a kitchen table and a TV console for our home. Both pieces turned out fantastic and the whole process was seamless!

I contacted Kurt requesting to have a board cut for a project I'm working on for my wife. They were simple, straight cuts. He's a busy guy, but still took a few moments to take care of what I needed. Very friendly, courteous and professional. He will have my business in the future and I highly recommend Ballash Woodworks.
