In the summer of 1999, Ryan Ozimek and Grey Frandsen were with an NGO in Albania during the conflict in the Balkans. It didn't take long for them to see a challenge for those trying to provide humanitarian assistance to those in need: the technology they'd seen built back in California simply wasn't available to on-the-ground responders in Kosovo.
After returning to UCLA for graduate work, their mission was clear: create a technology company that provided technology services that empowered the missions of organizations to more effectively provide much needed services to their constituencies. Tim orchestrates the ongoing development of PICnet's web solutions and gets the word out on how they can make nonprofits more efficient and effective. These duties are informed and inspired by more than a decade of work at non-profits in the U.S. and overseas where his experience has included project management, strategic planning, marketing, and fundraising as well as website development.
With our offices in Washington DC and San Francisco, we've got the country covered from coast to coast. We also work with a number of organizations outside the US as well, so don't hesitate to send us an RFP from the Bahamas, Costa Rica, or other warm weather locales. We've always been big supporters of open source software, and we've been excited to share its power with the community. Sometimes, we've even gone to extreme lengths to spread the word.
