Services
In 2000, leading citizens from various sectors of the city of Oneonta incorporated the Foothills Performing Arts Center, a forum for cultural and civic activity conceived to serve the needs of Chenango, Delaware, and Otsego Counties in central New York. Following the acquisition of a site on Market Street in the city's historic downtown district, the initial phase of construction was completed with the opening of the Production Center in 2005.
The mission of the Foothills Performing Arts and Civic Center is to be the premiere venue for the collaboration of arts, culture, and education; enhancing lives and economic climate in the greater Oneonta region. We are committed to making Foothills a center for community involvement and civic engagement.
If you are interested in a tour of our facility we would be glad to help. We offer a unique modern space in a beautiful country setting with a convenient downtown address. Please note that there is a four-hour minimum rental period for our event spaces on weekends. Ceremonies are available on site; please call (607) 431-2080 for details.
From the ceremony to the reception dinner and dancing, the Foothills has the space to accomodate your event. We could not have wished for a better venue for our wedding! We had our ceremony in the cozy and sophisticated Production Room and then our guests moved into the beautifully modern Atrium for our reception.
Foothills Performing Arts Center is pleased to offer a variety of classes to the community for anyone with an interest in performance, music, vocal repertoire, and drama. For more information, please call (607) 431-2080. Orpheus Theatre was founded in 1984, and has been firmly rooted in the community ever since.

I just went there to vote today. But I have been there before, it's comfortable for the audience. and it's fairly new looks nice from the outside.
But inside for the performers and actors it is seriously lacking. There is little if no backstage no changing room no space which is abominable. I feel sorry for whomever has to perform there. Whoever designed this and whoever commissioned this both ought to be strung up by their thumbs and let some actors kick them in the bum. It could have been so much better.

I was excited to see this facility open, being a local for many years. While our local families utilize and are grateful for the venue. I personally think that there are many issues unaddressed and not able to be fixed. I am also skeptical about the management over the years as well. I will still patronize and utilize the facility and am grateful it is in Oneonta.

Beautiful venue, however there's room for improvement. Particularly for performers, dressing rooms, backstage access, etc. From an audience perspective, I have been to a few events recently, enjoyed all, however, ushers needed! Had to stand for an entire performance... even at sold out shows (which are AWESOME) there should be seats for all who purchased tickets! Kudos to Orpheus Theatre Starstruck Players Team, could not sit with party, but at least we all had seats!!!
