Dental implants replace tooth roots in the mouth. Implants provide a strong foundation for fixed or removable replacement teeth and can aid in the prevention of bone loss in the jaw. An implant supported bridge is a restorative solution for spaces where three or more adjacent teeth are missing. This restoration typically requires two implants to support the porcelain bridge.
If gum recession is present and tooth roots are exposed, a gum graft may be recommended. This procedure is used to control and prevent further gum recession and subsequent damage to the surrounding teeth and bone structure. Often, a soft tissue graft also improves the appearance of a patient's smile and sensitivity to heat and cold.
Bone grafting may be required to address defects in a patient's jaw. Bone grafting is a form of reconstructive surgery that helps to generate and rebuild bone and increase bone density. The most common bone grafting procedure is performed to enhance the upper or lower jaw bone in order to increase bone quantity and density in preparation for the placement of dental implants.
A tooth that can not be saved with restorative materials may need to be removed. Before removing your tooth, the area will be numbed with anesthesia. The tooth is then loosened using a special dental instrument known as an elevator. After it is loosened from the socket, it is gently removed by a forcep, a dental instrument commonly used in dental extractions.

I've visited Holzinger Periodontics & Implant Dentistry twice over the past year. The office is immaculate, and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They put me at ease and guided me through the entire appointment process. They answered all of my questions thoroughly and patiently. Both Dr. Michele and Dr. John were extremely professional, friendly, and kind. They found a problem that needed fixing and explained everything in detail, putting my mind at ease. They even called me later that night to check up on me! I've also had a few cleaning appointments there. The hygienists were all super

I recently needed a periodontic procedure and had the pleasure of meeting Dr. John Holzinger D.M.D. He and his staff were professional, knowledgeable, competent. and humble. From the consultation to the after-care; I was in exceptional hands. Everything was explained in laymen terms. All questions were answered. The staff had all insurance, co-insurance and payment options spelled out. No worries. I even received a call the evening of my procedure form Dr. Holzinger to ensure everything was as expected. I also had clear post procedure instructions, as well as phone numbers if needed.
