Try not to go to the ER with your screaming infant when there is an ice cream truck in the parking lot.
They will announce it over the intercom. The same person who announced it will call the lady who is quietly asking you important questions about your screaming infant. They get so excited for the ice cream that they put a pause on asking triage questions regarding your screaming infant. Watch all the staff drop everything and parade to the parking lot for ice cream like a bunch of elephants holding each others trunks in a line. Is this a hospital or a middle school?

My husband dislocated his finger (actually my dang dog dislocated it) on a beautiful Saturday morning in Key West. We had noted the ER earlier in our vacation, and joked that if we needed to know, that it was easy to get to. He got in fast! The intake clerk must have sensed my anxiety behind my mask, because he engaged me in tourist talk for a few moments and we even went to a museum he suggested, a few days later. They had me leave because of COVID, but soon, my husband called. The doc, who spoke Spanish, French, and English fluently, fixed hubby right up, and we were able to catch our boat tour

I received amazing care in an extremely busy night. They took great care. Making sure I was comfortable and taking the time to explain things to me instead of just treating. This was the best experience I have had at LKMC. Thank you for taking such good care of me

I don’t know where to start! I am so impressed with this amazing group of people. So professional, compassionate and absolutely wonderful! I went in for my “first Colonoscopy”!!!! From the moment I walked into the hospital everyone was so understanding. When I hit the the dreaded 2nd floor (ambulatory) I was greeted by the most amazing group of people! Nurse Lindsey was sooo cool. Speaking of cool it was very cool in the room. They would bring me warm blankets making sure I was comfortable. In fact I fell asleep. Then when the time came to wheel me into the chamber of horrors I was greater

Wonderful patient care. The Doctors were attentive and explained everything that was happening. The 4 day stay in ICU was an event that I was not expecting, and the nurses were great. Nurse Elizabeth (Liz)Hernandez was outstanding. All the nurses were on the spot for everything I needed. The hospital was overall one of the best I've been in. It's a small hospital and everyone was friendly. Concerned and ready to help in any way. Thanks, and God Bless

Emergency room was not very clean. Laying on the gurney I was watching the housekeeper sweeping the floor. What she collected looked like it was cleaned in days. Came in with three broken toes and badly sprained ankle and damaged tendons around my ankle that was badly swollen and turning black and blue. Had to ask twice for a couple ice packs to reduce swelling. Had to ask for pain med and water. Only reason I didn’t give 0 stars is that they were fairly friendly.

Emergency room staff was courteous. No long wait. The RN that placed my IV had a student with her. The IV infiltrated very soon after placement. I told the student as they were walking out to the triage area that it had infiltrated. She nodded to acknowledge me but did not come back into my room until they came in with my discharge papers. I finally asked another RN to remove it. I was in and out within one hour.

The nurses at Lower Keys Medical were beyond amazing from the time of my arrival to my discharge.
Brittany in L&D was phenomenal and so patient.. She was very alert and hands on, did everything possible to make sure I was comfortable. Meagan who helped deliver my son along side Dr. Delong was very patient and encouraging. She kept us informed of each step that was being taken.
The ladies over in the postpartum wing were also very generous and wonderful when it came to being attentive and making sure my baby and I were comfortable and safe.
I am forever grateful for these wonderful ladies and

I have been going to LKMC since August where I was diagnosed with Covid, since then I have had to go back a few times because of complications. Each time I have gone the staff are pretty sympathetic to my case until yesterday when I had to interact with Dr Sanchez, he made me feel like I was there as a drug seeker when all my doctor wanted me to… get was a chest X-ray in hopes to find out why my blood oxygen was so low and to see if the pneumonia was clearing up. I showed him the readings I was getting from my pulse oximeter for the past week and he really had no desire to look at it and

This is a bad employer! They went not organized when I got there. I flew down to do orientation and start work they didn’t notify me that they moved me back a week! Then when I got there they didn’t tell me I had a certain color scrub! I spent $300+ on scrubs! Also in the job description it doesn’t state that as a tech you are on call! Poor management, poor hr!

I dropped off my 20 year old daughter at the ER for compulsive vomiting of black and green vomit. Meaning she's vomiting old blood and bile. Due to covid I am not allowed in the waiting room, I understand. My daughter is moaning and crying in pain, and can hardley walk on her own. I waited in the parking lot outside and kept in touch via text. … She kept having to go to the bathroom to vomit and the staff told her she needed to stop going in and out of the bathroom to vomit and stay in the waiting room while vomiting into a bag. So instead of having a feeling of privacy while vomiting, crying

I can not say enough great things about the emts, nurses and doctor during my emergency visit to this hospital. From the time the ambulance arrived at the hotel to attend to my emergency to the checkout process. I was so scared and the emt immediately calmed my nerves. I believe his name was Jack. He handled the situation above and beyond. The… staff at the hospital were also very professional and made me feel comfortable during my stay. Dr Partrick was also great. He explained everything I was experiencing with expertise. Due to Covid, my husband was not able to be in the room. The nurses

I am shocked to see that this hospital is only ranked 2.5 out of 5 stars. First, a brief background on me. Due to a chronic disease, I have had over 100 full sleep surgeries, 500+ nights in the hospital, 350+ imaging studies and all of this has probably taken place at a good 25+ hospitals over my lifetime. I know hospitals very well. I've spent considerable time at the best and the worst.

What sets LKMC apart is it's people. The people will make or break any healthcare organization. Simply put, they care here. They really care a lot. The nursing staff has the amazing ability to become

Lower Keys Medical Center ought to be investigated for their billing practices. A few weeks ago, my doctor ordered a ct scan and a pulmonary function test. I schedule both appointments at LKMC. The day before my ct scan, LKMC called to notify me that my copay for the scan was going to be just over $1000. My COPAY WAS GOING TO BE JUST OVER $1000! I called Urgent Care, out of pocket, not going through insurance because I did not want to wait for a prior authorization AGAIN, $370. $370 for the same ct scan that LKMC was telling me my copay of 40% was going to be OVER $1000!! Same thing today. LKMC

I had my son here in the maternity ward. Natural birth, no drugs. The nurse was very nice but either she or another nurse dumped ice water into my IV right after the delivery. I didn't know what had happened, I just started shaking violently and couldn't hold my baby for some time. The doula told me later about the ice water. I don't understand why they did that. I was conscious and doing fine. They could have just given me a cup of water to drink if they were afraid I was dehydrated. I'm sort of horrified at the thought that in a hospital anyone can just come along and dump

I found myself at Lower Keys Medical Centre early in March, coming off a cruise ship with appendicitis. The ambulance arrived at the cruise ship really quickly and delivered me to the hospital. The whole experience was excellent. I was attended to in the ER quickly and competently by all concerned. I was sent for CAT scan to confirm diagnosis of appendicitis and the surgeon met me even before getting back to the ER. I arrived at the hospital around 3 and was in surgery by 8pm. The nursing staff who cared for me overnight and the next morning were excellent and very caring.
I can't complain

If i could give zero stars I would. I hurt myself in 2010 and required stitches. I accidentally gave the wrong insurance card. I remedied the situation once they alerted me, yet they have sold my 'debt' to no less than 5 collection agencies. I even settled with one of the agencies so as not to have the mark on my credit report, yet here we are almost 9 years later and I just got a new letter from a 6th collection agency. This is a matter of 13 stitches in my thumb. I would rather bleed out next time than ever go back.

I see a lot of very poor reviews, our experience was great. We were visiting Key West, and my wife had a bad bout of food poisoning and a near 103 degree temperature. KW ambulance was at our hotel within 5 minutes, and transport to the hospital took less than 15 minutes. ER admission took 5 minutes. Diagnosis was accurate, and prompt, test results came back quickly. Medical staff caring, and professional. One night stay in the hospital, then my wife was released, ready to continue our vacation.

I am staying here on vacation and happened to pass a kidney stone. I rushed here this morning and was helped immediately after filling out some paperwork. My tech, nurse, and doctor were all so helpful and very nice. I was given morphine almost immediately and was taken for a cat scan. The tech for the cat scan was also so nice and friendly.

Only reason I am not giving this place five stars is because it's under construction. The whole place really needs to be finished and add some landscaping to make this place less scary looking.

This is by far the worse hospital in Florida Keys. I can't wait till Baptist opens up. The staff was very very rude yelling, the nurses are rude especially charge nurse. The doctor on the other hand was nice and friendly. I just believe they need to work on treating their patients better is all I ask. Other then that I don't ask for anything else.
