So I am writing this review in response to a google review that I left about this business. Just to recap my basic complaint is that I was charged a $140 diagnostic fee but was never told about it up front. I received a response from the owner saying that I was told up front about the diagnostic fee. I just want everyone to know that’s absolutely a… lie. When I first called I spoke with a mechanic, I think Vlad, and he never mentioned a diagnostic fee. And when I dropped off the car I was never told about the fee. I understand that it’s a business and they have to make money

So I took my car here for service because I had heard good things about this place and I didn’t want to take my car to Melbourne BMW because I’ve had a couple of bad experiences there. Anyway the estimate I was given for the repair was $300, which I’m not saying is unreasonable, however I decided to not to get the service done that day. So when I pick up my car I’m told that’s $140! To diagnose my car? I mean had I gotten the service done would I have still been charged the $140? I guess I should have said yes because now I’ve already paid half! I wish I would have known about the diagnostic

So, I ended up going with Vlad's Autobaun in Melbourne. He's a family run European automotive specialist. Let me tell you, I could not be happier with their service. Not only did I get quality work done, but their updates and customer services was so comforting. They even gave me an in-depth tour of the shop and project cars they are working on. I got an oil change done, replaced the coolant expansion tank and got new 660 brake fluid. I plan on getting all my work done with Vlad. His passion for cars is very apparent.

Very friendly staff! You can tell that customer satisfaction is their main priority. Especially seeing the passion they have for these European vehicles. They don't b******t you like some official dealers do and truly care that the Mercedes brand name is not garnished by any negative experience you may have encountered at dealer service centers. This is definitely my go to for anything Mercedes maintenance/service related.

I brought in an older Land Rover and explained the level of repair I needed. They were very helpful and made the repairs as necessary, quickly, and fully explained everything done as well as recommended actions based on my style of driving and planned use of the vehicle! Once again a great experience. They are great mechanics and even greater people. They have saved me considerable expense v the local dealership and actually resolve the issues. As foe the reviews by Chuck and Brad, ignore them. They probably were the jerks, and don't know about cars. Got my Audi serviced at Vlad's Autobahn, have never felt so welcomed and comfortable. Vlad's is very honest about their pricing and does not pressure you into performing any services you don't need. All my Audi services will be done here in the future, so very glad I found this place!

Very Disappointing!!! I just talked with Vlad on the phone after waiting 2 weeks for him to get back to me with an email quote on my 97' Audi A4 Quattro!!
I am finding it hard to believe the lack of responsibility of a respectable foreign car repair shop in Melbourne, who does not understand the meaning of Customer Service and how to follow up… with an email, after he said that he had called me twice before!!!
I am currently working in the Middle East on a US contract and I am amazed at the unwillingness of Vlad to take the customer responsibility of following up with me with a simple email

I interviewed Vlad for service on my E-350 Mercedes, I was impressed by the knowledge Vlad had on my car as he gave me ta tour of his facility (clean), He seemed to be more informed then the local Mercedes dealer. I later learned that he was employed there for several years prior. His prices were far less then the dealer wanted for routine service. Vlad's wife presented me with fresh home made Blueberry muffins this morning when I picked up my car. That alone will be the reason return In addition to the quality service!!!
