The Artist - Celebrating his 22nd year shaping steel, the art of blacksmithing has been a spiritual journey for Sam, combining the four ancient elements to make objects of art and function. His hope is that people not only find his work useful in their daily lives, but are also inspired by it. The Smithy - Originally constructed in the mid-1800's by Ephraim Woodworth, the building has been lovingly restored as our studio and workshop.

Making useful items for the home is, to us, the heart of blacksmithing. To have something hand-crafted with care to last a lifetime is rare in this day and age. Most pieces are custom, but there are a few we make more of because we know many people would love them. Of course, even though we make useful objects for the home, that doesn't mean they need to be strictly utilitarian!
Whether you've never swung a hammer before or you are a pro looking to sharpen your skills, we are happy to offer classes here at StormCloak Forge, LLC. All classes include a syllabus and handouts to take home along with the item you make in class!. All classes are $50 per hour for 1 person or $75 for 2. Bring a friend and save! - But hurry soon if you are thinking of signing up or getting a gift certificate to lock in 2021 rates.
