Established in 2010, Tranquil Environments Maid Service was founded by Lisa Bowden. The venture started out as a small operation - a labor of love, so to speak - but the firm quickly grew in prominence. Tranquil Environments Maid Service got its name from Lisa's desire to "evoke the wonderful feeling of serenity that you get when you walk into a clean home."

With the exception of a few heavy duty cleaners used for extreme cleaning challenges, all of their cleaning products are eco-friendly. In 2012, Tranquil Environments Maid Service received recognition from the Central Penn Parent Magazine; as the firm took secnd place in their Family Favorites yearly contest.
