Joe is President of HGE and manager of the architectural practice and has held this position since joining the firm in 1995. He has experience with a wide variety of building types from small residential projects to complex multi-million-dollar commercial projects with large consulting teams of design architects, structural, mechanical and electrical engineers.
His involvement has been in all phases of work including pre-design, technical needs assessment reports, programming, preliminary design, master planning, public meeting representation, construction document preparation, bidding, and construction administration. Joe enjoys all facets of the profession including the friendships formed with HGE clients and the construction community.

Our building design speaks for itself. We would change nothing. The sustainable design of the building is working well for us. We moved from a 11,000 square foot building to one almost 25,000 square feet and our utility costs have gone down! From the principal architect, Joe Slack, to their staff architects, intern architects, on-staff electrical and civil engineers, and their consultants, we felt we were in good hands.

I hired HGE the first of February to design a simple two bedroom home. I agreed to pay $5,700 and was told it would take approximately 45 days. After signing the contract, the architect Andrew, began a much larger project and put my house on the back burner for over four months. After being reminded that I had a deadline to receive permits before the end of June or pay over $9,000. in SDC's, Andrew was able to get the plans done within days. The city, their engineers and I really hustled to barely get the permits on time. Unfortunately, after that many months, all the contractors I had been talking
