Dr. Michael Michel's chiropractic practice is located in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He resides with his wife MJ and their children Jessica, Rachel, Jedidiah, and Paisley in Ellsinore, Missouri. He is a lifelong Missouri resident and grew up in Ripley county. Dr. Michel is a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Zion Lutheran Church.
During the initial examination, we will go through a discovery process with you, to determine the source of your health concerns. A DETAILED HEALTH HISTORY with one of our exam specialists to customize the treatment for each specific patient's needs. At this time, patients will be able to ask any and all questions about the treatment.
In simplest terms, a subluxation a.k.a. Vertebral Subluxation) is when one or more of the bones of your spine (vertebrae) move out of position and create pressure on, or irritate spinal nerves. Spinal nerves are the nerves that come out from between each of the bones in your spine. This pressure or irritation on the nerves then causes those nerves to malfunction and interfere with the signals traveling over those nerves.
This is a representation of one type of subluxation. A subluxation, as defined by the Association of Chiropractic Colleges is: "A subluxation is a complex of functional and/or structural and/or pathological articular changes that compromise neural integrity and may influence organ system function and general health."
