Mike Cooper currently owns and operates Mercury Valet and has worked as a dry cleaner and launderer for over 30 years. He enjoys the support of his experienced staff that also has many years of experience as spotters, cleaners, pressers, and representatives of high-quality customer service.

I left a vest to be altered by taking in two straight seams - a five-minute job at most. The clerk said to come back in two days. Here I am and they cannot find it. The explanations: "It's in a big pile of clothes. We're looking for it. It's in the machine to be dry cleaned (I didn't ask for and didn't want it cleaned. It was new, never been worn). We found it. We're still looking. It's in the machine." When asked why it was being cleaned I was told "They weren't paying attention.” I'm still waiting for it.

There was some confusion on where my item was when I went to pick it up, but as I turns out, it was actually due to some miscommunication in-house as extra care was being taken for my item. Although my item was found after only a little while, the owner talked to me personally and explained that’s not how they prefer things to go and insisted on providing a full refund. My item looks great, and they provided wonderful customer service.

I would give 0 stars here if I could. I got two suits and a coat dry cleaned. First time they did it, the solution they used had a terrible odor afterwards on all my clothes. It was so bad that I had to throw out my coat. The manager wouldn't let me get a refund when I brought the clothes back and after I had said it would be the same mistake, she was extremely rude and demanded I give her my last name to redo the dry cleaning. I got it back the next day and one of my suits was ruined. It had pressed lines all over the pants and the blazer on an over $200 suit. They wouldn't take any

Be very careful about doing business with these thieves... Don't be fooled by the UT discount as I did. They destroyed my wife's pants and instead of apology or remedy, insulted us... unprofessional,rude and unaccountable staff and manager. The worker applied bleach liquid to remove stains and it apparently damaged the color. First the staff admitted the fault and ask about the price to compensate. I was glad I found a place that gave me discount but there is a reason for their lower price, I gave them my pants to clean and remove stain, they gave it back with white spot instead. When I ask them about it they said it was like that before, and accused me of lying. They are very unprofessional and rude.

I've taken shirts and suits and everything was OK except for last time, when they stained a new white shirt with what looked like grease. It wouldn't come off and they ended up paying for its original value. I wouldn't be so mad if it hadn't been that I was flying the next day for a wedding and had to buy a new shirt that same day. I dropped off several special costume pieces from a local theatre group on Monday. We discussed the careful requirements needed to protect the clothes and the sequins and rhinestones that were on the costumes. I also communicated several times that I needed them done by today because I was going out of town for several weeks and had to have my costumes back into storage before I left. They assured me it would be no problem and I could pick them up today after 4pm. So, I get there at 4:30 and they can't find the costumes. They can't find any ticket or anything that proved I dropped

I've been using them for decades. You might pay a bit more than so-called "discount" ($10 off $30 order) cleaners, but the ROI is in the counter service and the exceptional way they care for a customer's clothes. I've never had to request a re-do; I've never had to tell them NOT to starch my pants. There used to be a lot of good hometown cleaners in Memphis; sadly, this is no longer the case. It's best to stick with the ones who don't get bought out or change ownership every couple of years. Mercury Valet is tried and true.

We have been loyal customers for about 2 years now and not going anywhere else since we moved to Memphis. Recently I found out (after 2 ruined sweaters) that they do not listen to what you ask. They clean clothes according to the label. I specifically asked them to clean these items by dry cleaning and they ignored me. If nothing has happened I would have no issue with them, but something did. They refused to compensate me for either item. I am very disappointed and will not be giving them anymore business.

When I recently bought a house here in Memphis, Mercury Valet sent me a nice welcome-to-the-'hood note and a $25 gift certificate.
Shortly thereafter, my dog puked on my comforter, so naturally I brought it in. And they wouldn't honor the gift certificate! "Sorry ma'am, this is just for regular dry cleaning, you know, clothing items."
I don't much care about 25 bucks, but soooo not the way to work if you're trying to win the loyalty of new customers. Not going back.
Comforter came out nice and clean, though.

Not only do they do an amazing job they are absolutely affordable! I've gotten several items dry cleaned there now, so I am confident in giving them 5 stars! I recently had my winter pea coat dry cleaned which was absolutely filthy (lint, dusty etc.- basically it was embarrassing). When I went to pick it up however, it literally looked like a new coat! It's now spotless. I am very pleased and will continue to go there.

This place is just up the street from me, so it's my go-to spot for dry cleaning and minor alterations. They do very nice work, are reasonably priced, and even send 2 for 1 coupons in the mail. The people that work there are super nice -- when I was trying to track down a pair of my boyfriend's pants (still MIA, don't ask), they were happy to check their records for me, and even figured out that I had never picked up a couple of shirts (from 2 months prior, shhhh). Dry cleaning will never be exciting, but at least here it's hassle-free.

This is the only place I will take my dry cleaning! They always do a wonderful job and it is cheap. Not only that, they offer free cleaning of American Flags. I've also had 2 suits altered here. The women that do it are professional and the alterations are quick and inexpensive. Mercury Valet is also involved in a lot of charities. They are big supporters of the humane society and I think everyone can get behind that!
