At Kentucky Estate Planning Law Center, we focus on estate planning, elder law, and closely related practice areas. Our true focus, however, is helping families plan for and take control of their future. Ensuring your assets will go to the people you want, when you want, in the manner you want after you pass away.
Preparing for the possibility that you or your spouse will need expensive long-term care-and helping you find ways to pay for it. Ensuring that people you trust have the authority to make financial and medical decisions on your behalf in the event of incapacity. Protecting your assets and those of your heirs against threats such as creditors, lawsuits, divorce, the high cost of long-term care, and more.

Services
Over the years we have developed a four-step planning process that streamlines the creation and execution of our clients' plans. While every family is unique, our clients often tell us how much they value our efficient, proven process. The four-step process begins with education. The more you know about estate planning and asset protection, the better.
Consider your beneficiaries. They will get married (and divorced), have children of their own, celebrate new jobs and suffer financial setbacks. Changes such as these may necessitate changes to your plan. Your health and your financial situation will also change over time. When your health declines, your plan must address the possibility of needing expensive long-term care.
When many people hear the term estate planning, they think it refers only to the distribution of assets after death. That is part of it, of course, but effective estate planning can address important issues during one's lifetime and in end-of-life situations. For example, a well-designed estate plan will ensure that a person of your choosing can make medical and financial decisions on your behalf if you become incapacitated.
Elder Law encompasses a wide range of practice areas, including long-term care planning, Medicaid planning, estate planning, asset protection, and more. We have extensive experience in all of these areas and are committed to helping seniors and their loved ones manage the changes that come with growing older.
Losing a loved one is difficult enough without the added stress of having to probate your loved one's estate. Perhaps you are wondering what is involved in probating an estate? Make payments to creditors, discharge the decedent's obligations and obtain creditor releases. Obtain tax releases and closing letters from the IRS, local courts and state taxing authorities.

I found the KY Estate Planning Law Center to be most helpful in probating my wife's business after her death this year and in creating a Living Trust for me. Ben Humphries, Sarah Pait and the entire staff were professional, courteous, and willing to explain things to me and my family, sometimes more than once, as we continued to ask questions. They took us through all documents page by page . Their response was always calm, professional and encouraged questions if we didn't understand anything.
Ben guided me through probate and prepared and presented to the court all required documents which greatly

My husband and I want to make everything as easy as possible for our children when the time comes that we need assistance. We participated in the free workshop to get an idea of what services we would benefit from in estate planning. It is recommended to also have Living Wills, Medical Power of Attorney and Business Power of Attorney for each person.
Ben Humphries helped us think through a variety of scenarios in helping us plan. We've received a professional binder with all of our documents as well as a thumb drive to download and share with our children. We feel prepared and at peace having

Ben and the staff took the time to understand the family dynamics and explain the likely friction points regarding protecting assets from the perspective of grandparents, parents, and children. He methodically presented our options and the pros & cons of each. We feel that we are now much better positioned for the future.

My husband and I are at the stage of our lives where we needed to seriously begin planning for our estate, set up a trust, etc. Ben Humphries and his staff helped us to do that. We have nothing to say but the best about Mr. Humphries and his staff! Highly recommend them!
