Founded in 1872, Santa Barbara Yacht Club is the second oldest yacht club on the west coast of North America. We are a family-oriented club, rich with history and tradition. We're devoted to promoting and managing yachting activities, advancing the art of seamanship, preserving maritime tradition, and providing for the social and recreational needs of our members, while being mindful of our important role in the community.
Services
The members and staff of the Santa Barbara Yacht Club welcome you. We will do everything possible to make your visit with us enjoyable. The following information may help answer many of your questions concerning our facilities. We hope that your visit will encourage you to make us a frequent port of call.
It is my honor and privilege to be the Commodore of the Santa Barbara Yacht Club for 2021. I am lucky to have grown up sailing here in Santa Barbara and am now raising my daughter to have a love of sailing and the Corinthian spirit. The Santa Barbara Yacht Club is the 2nd oldest club on the West Coast.
Our association, formed in 1989, is both a social organization and a nonprofit foundation. Our goal is to provide opportunities for women of the Yacht Club to become better acquainted with each other, to be more involved in Yacht Club activities, and to support our youth sailors. SBYCW is governed by a Board of Directors, consisting of four officers (president, vice president, secretary and treasurer) and nine committee chairs.
A venerable tradition of the Santa Barbara Yacht Club is our weekly Forum Luncheon. Except when preempted by a holiday or "Big Race" or such activity, a group of members and their invited guests meet at the Yacht Club for Monday Lunch. Reservations are not required. Cost is $14.00, which includes a buffet, coffee and dessert.
It doesn't matter how much sailing experience you have, or what kind of boat you sail, everyone has an equal chance to win because handicaps are based on past performance. If you sail with 10 people and the family dog, you have the same chance to win as does the seasoned racer with a crack crew and a racing boat.

Went to a luncheon during the week and the location was beautiful. Unfortunately, they did not allow us to park in their lot so everyone had to walk from public parking. Some of the attendees were elderly.
The clam chowder was get as well as the greens. The bread on the tuna sandwich was very dry.
There's a little alcove in the banquet room where several loud women were seated. At times it was hard to hear our speaker.
