Dr. Doss has been providing acupuncture to Grants Pass residents for 32 years. His education includes a bachelor's degree from Santa Barbara College of Oriental Medicine in 1986 and a doctorate degree from SAMRA University of Oriental Medicine in 1989. Additionally, he earned a master's degree in NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) in 1997.
The oldest Chinese Medical text dates back over two thousand years. Acupuncture is believed to be many thousands of years older than this, based upon stone acupuncture needles dating back to 3000 BC. Luckily, we have no need of stone needles today! Modern acupuncture needles are hair-thin, disposable, stainless steel versions inserted painlessly in the same acupuncture points referenced in the ancient texts.
When you arrive at the Acupuncture and Herbal Medical Center our receptionist will greet you. You may relax in the waiting room, listen to peaceful music, and enjoy a cup of tea until it is time for your appointment. You will be shown to a treatment room, typical of what you would see in any doctor's office.
I first tried acupuncture at the urging of my wife. She underwent a single treatment for muscle issues in her foot and leg and was so impressed, not only with the results, but also with the fact that it was so relaxing and painless. She, like so many of us, was not excited with the prospect of having needles put in her body.

Dr. Doss is great. I have had previous experiences with acupuncturists in our area. They were all fine, but Dr. Doss is the best. He doesn’t use only a couple needles, but uses quite a few. However he is very gentle and uses extra fine needles that don’t hurt. He really knows what he is doing. He was very respectful of my personal space and I was comfortable at all times. His medical assistant and front staff people are great.
