Gas logs are an affordable and efficient way to transform a wood burning fireplace into gas. They provide the ambience and warmth of a fire without the mess and inconvenience of chopping wood or hauling in logs. Most gas logs are either ceramic or refractory cement that's been painted and fashioned to look like natural wood burning logs, with the ability to withstand high heat.
Vented gas logs are an affordable option when you want an ambient fire with a touch of button or flip of a switch, without changing the structure of your fireplace. They deliver gorgeous flames, at any moment, any day of the year. Select from gas logs with manual controls, to on and off remote controls, to vented gas logs with variable flame height.
Vent free (also called ventless or unvented) gas logs are increasing in popularity as they are an incredibly efficient way to bring the warmth of a fire into your home without the messiness of burning natural wood. Fueled by natural gas or liquid propane (LP), they are installed into a wood burning fireplace or an approved vent free firebox.
See thru vented gas logs (also called double-sided vented gas logs) offer the unique benefit of being seen in two rooms at the same time. Keith and Monica at American Gas Works are an amazing team! They are professional, punctual and easy to communicate with. We recently had our natural fireplace converted to gas. Keith installed a new gas line and ventless gas logs. We could not be happier with our new fireplace. From start to finish the process was smooth! In our 68 years, have we NEVER come across a more reliable and experienced company with reasonable prices in our life. We are not strangers to service repairmen, salesmen, etc. Keith and Monica are the owners and they are the most knowledgeable, experienced and honest people you will ever find. We had a wood burning fireplace turned into a gas log fireplace. Keith knows his stuff and installed the gas line and assembled the logs which we ordered from his company. Beginning to end was a very pleasant experience. I will definitely recommend them to anyone.

My family an I have longed for a gas fireplace for years. We bought a house in Livonia with a bare fireplace, and put candles in it for the first year. One day I was curious what it would take to get a gas fireplace installed, so I did a Google Maps search for a local company and found American Gas Works. I called and talked with Keith and Monica, who explained everything very clearly and gave me the confidence to move forward. Our experience with American Gas Works from beginning to end was AMAZING! Our fireplace broke about three years ago and at that time we had a different company come out charge us $175 to walk in the door and then quoted us an additional $350 for a full replacement. Too much for us we let the fireplace stay broken! We decided this past winter to FINALLY try again to get our fireplace fixed. We just converted our natural fireplace to gas and we love it! The customer service Keith and Monica gave us was wonderful. They helped us pick out the perfect set of logs and installation was within a couple weeks of ordering. Keith came to install and spent exactly the amount of time he said it would take.
